So I listened to the podcast of the coaches show last night and here's my take.
First I would like to give props to Troy for the continuing attempt to make this show interesting despite the horrible year and half we all had to endure. Can't be easy to sit there and ask questions as if we are about to turn the corner on the program. With that being said.....you fail to ask the tough questions and pursue an answer satisfactory to you and the fans. You mention you read the message boards, so you know the hot topic on the table is the quarterback position. Yet you failed to pursue that avenue. His answer to the Baca question was weak and you allowed him to dodge the entire question. It's like cat crap under the table, everyone smells it but nobody wants to deal with it. Also, don't make comments like you do about how "you know and the Coach knows" but the "average" fan doesn't understand. Don't insult our intelligence regarding the game of football.
Coach Collins said his program has come along way since a year ago. I certainly hope so! There's a big difference between being with the kids 6 months and 18 months. Glad you can check that one off your list of accomplishments. The discussion regarding the two personal fouls against Tonye-Tonye. I agree the first one was a matter of just being too aggressive, it's football it happens and I don't think there's an issue with that one. But the second foul where he punched a guy, that is inexcusable. Yet there is no punishment by the Coach. This is where you send a message to the team! This is unacceptable! To say "well he's never been hit like that before"...... he's a football player, of course he has been hit like that.....many times I'm sure. What a dumb answer.
Coach Collins said that Baca was put in there for an "opportunity to throw the ball around"? He had 3 snaps, 1 for pass and 2 for run, which included a 3rd and long run. Not much of an opportunity in my opinion.
Coach Collins.....you are the head coach and ultimately responsible for every decision that is made on that team. Your decisions and lack thereof will cost you your job at the end of the season. Start saving boxes.
