The rumor I heard was of a coach other than those already mentioned. I can't see anything to substantiate the rumor

OL? Would definitely be a pay increase for Best. If the rumblings are OC related, it would be Baldwin going, not Best. I always suspected the Chip Kelly route would be Beau's most likely path upward.

I'd be surprised to see that this year though assuming Cooper sought some confidence from Beau before making HIS announcement.

It isn't Baldwin, or Best. What I have heard involves a positional coach. I don't know if this involves someone being relieved completely, or just a change in positions. But yeah, apparently there are some more changes in the works.

My understanding is Best wants to be a head coach. I'd also think he'd be in the driver's seat whenever Baldwin leaves at Eastern. Being an EWU guy, that'd likely be very attractive to him. Maybe he could do a temp gig at UW and still get the Eastern job whenever it becomes available. IMO, he's the best assistant on the staff.

We will miss Zak Hill, he is an outstanding coach. Going to Hawaii, is like leaving the Icebox, and into the incubator. It will be hard not seeing him on the field at EWU. He deserves the move up. Good Luck Zak, you and the family. I haven't heard much at EWU, haven't been out there much, so I am unable to say much about the Coaching Changes. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Since we are not in the Playoffs, I am not interested in who is in. I am interested in what is going on with our Coaches and rumors. I made a trip to Campus yesterday, saw some Coaches. I did converse with one of them. He did mention Coach Zack Hill leaving for UH, Coach Sawyer DL Coach is leaving to do something else. Guess he is tired of Football. I wish both of them the best of luck. Will keep the Coaches name I converse with to myself, unless he give me permission to release it later. Some one else could possible come up with the name. No other Coaches were mentioned when it comes to leaving EWU. Have a great Saturday. Vic Wallace

Thanks Vic! Hopefully, the next announcement will be the names of the two replacements.
Mr. Hill leaving hurt, Like all of the remaining coaches, he connected well with the players and will be sorely missed. I'm also curious to see the impact on the D-line this Spring with new leadership and coaching. Nowhere to go but up.


With some struggles on special teams, I suspect we may see some more moving around with an additional hire maybe.

I remembered Eti Ena first being here as a Student, then as an Asst Coach, all before we had the Red turf. This was the time we practiced on the Grass Field. Those were years ago. He will make an Excellent Coach, since he somewhat knows our System. Welcome Back Coach. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

I haven't heard anything about replacing Coach Hill. Hope there is someone on board before this is posted. Anyway Coach could do the QB Coaching if necessary, he was a QB at Central in the "OLDEN DAYS" . I saw some great Athletes at the MBB Game on Saturday evening.
