This will be CMU's 2nd game as well as they dropped their opener 38-19 to DII #21 ranked Humboldt State. Most are predicting CMU to finish middle of the pack in the RMAC so this is a game we need to win and ideally, put away early. Granted, if past performance is any indication we may struggle to do that.

I am optimistic, even with the result Thursday night.
I really do think the o line is improved. The difficuly comes when fresh defensive players keep coming at you. Granted, our o line got plenty of rest........too much rest as our injury defense had far too many plays.
If we can heal, the season may be more productive than I thought it could be.
While there were obviously plays made by Utah, our db's played pretty well overall......although the scheme or reads put them in some awkward spots. Receivers caught catchable balls.....Steele made an awesome catch.
I am looking forward to next weeks game.........does anybody know about the players who were injured?

Will they be ready this week?

Pretty sure Chapele is out of the season. Not sure about the others.

Even though we got smoked by Utah ( no surprise really) I saw a lot of positives and am hopeful for a decent season. We should beat Colorado Mesa by as much as Utah beat us !

So if Da Bears lose to Colorado Mesa, can the Big Sky trade them to another league for a player to be named later?
On a serious note: please don't lose this game and embarrass the rest of this league.

So, we already know this. We do not need someone from Weiner State telling us this. Now, go away before our Volleyball team comes by and spikes a few balls down your throat !!

Is your volleyball team hot? If so send them on over. :thumb:

Hot as hell so far !! :flash:

Not to sound the alarm here, but we have lost the last TWO games versus lower division opponents, and two of the coaches from the Chadron State debacle are coaching Mesa right now.

That being said, there can be no excuse to look like a crap pile against this team. I vigorously denied any possibility of the Bears losing to Lindenwood a year ago ( ) and look what happened, Beardown was right. :ohno:

Going out on a bit of a limb here-

Bears 52
Mavs 10

I think Downing beat a D2 team, in between Chadron and Lindenwood. I can't remember who it was. I think it was in '10. I would be very disappointed if we didn't win by 3+ TD's.

I don't see UNC losing this one, I know I probably said the same thing against Lindenwood, but Mesa isn't no Lindenwood.

I know its not the right time or place, and I apologize for politicizing this thread, but I couldn't believe the ban on Manning (#18) in the Greeley schools (in the tribune). It made the in Alabama.
Man, things have changed!

Yeah, I was surprised at that as well (saw it on the front page of ESPN.com). I was saddened to see all of the numbers that were banned because of the affiliation with different gangs in Greeley. Things sure have changed in the town I used to call home.

Yeah I was gonna say, it's probably a gang thing.

5 minutes left in the 1st and the CMU QB has more completions (2) to Bears than Seth (0) does.

7-0 Bears!!!!
