Commits so far...

I like that we're going out of state. I think Downing has more contacts out of state then previous coaches so that's why we're going to places like Cali, AZ, Tx. I think the "prize" recruit is either Schwindt or Morton. Anytime you have success like that at CO's highest level of high school football is a good sign. I also like Marcus Lucas who signed last year but grey shirted. If he's anything like his brother (plays at CU), we're in good shape.

Yeah I read the Rocky Mtn News article and it said we only had 15 slots so that is good, I'm just surprised less people froim last year didn't leave but that's good they are sticking around that's a good sign. The kid from Rangeview was the one that was injured and I think prior to that the larger schools were after him. Also hope the RB can step up maybe in 2010, we haven't had much at RB in about 3 years it's been tough. It seemed like we always had a stud RB in the past but the guys recently haven't been up to snuff.

This is the first time that I've actually followed the commits to UNC this closely so I can't really judge on how well they did. But I'll give my 2 cents, I think from the amount of success they've had over the few years (3-31), they seem to have done a fairly decent job. Josh Morton, Gavin Miller, and Bryce Schwindt, all seem like solid pick ups. All were All-Colorado as well as first team All-State. Mark McKinnon was first team All-State in 4A. I feel the most impressive pick up is that QB Deen, as well as that Kraus and Landseadel, rivals.com had all those guys as 2 star recruits. It'll be interesting how these guys will impact the team. Buts what up with that 5-11 OT from mesa az? Hope thats more D Linemen.

The QB, Baca, we picked-up last year was also a two star recruit. We should be solid at QB for the next couple of seasons.

One of the keys to recruiting out-of-state is the funding. It's there now for the program, while it wasn't in the past.

As for the numbers, its 10 high schoolers, 2 jucos, a greyshirt & a walk-on...But, yes, its based on not having lost anyone other than graduating seniors.

That's good, we need those expierinced program guys around unlike the past few years with all the turnover. Get everyone on the same page will only help. That is a plus for the coaches to not have lost the ship. But we'll see, I can't sit through another 1-10 fiasco again.
