This new zone defense that has been implemented is not good. We were getting picked a part. I think our guys started to believe the hype of how good they are. The effort was lack luster tonight. Our guys weren't rotating. It looks like we have a true freshman leading this team. Berry and Tres need to step up and lead this team. Why does fulton feel like he needs to force 3's when he is on the court? If I was to re-evaluate the Big Sky I would put Weber at 4 or 5.

Fulton always has, hasn't he? I've always thought/assumed it was because he wasn't athletic enough to compete in/near the paint. If Rahe doesn't think his offensive play is right, shouldn't he adjust it?

I'm disappointed how soft/timid Bolomboy and Hill look. I get that both are young and Hill is quite inexperienced but I really thought I saw enough athletism in them that they would be able to hold their own. 9 fouls between the two of them yesterday against a front court that I don't believe is all that talented.

I couldn't agree more with the Senior leadership. I thought I saw it as a problem vs byu and definately saw it in this game. They've got to show the leadership on the court both vocally and in their play. I don't doubt they'll get things figured out by conference play but I really thought they were bringing something great right out of the gate this year. Guess not.

Some of you guys on this fan board are just too much. Lose 2 game on the road and some of you act as if the sky is falling. :roll: The season is young and the Randy Rahe/Stu Morrill system takes at least a month to a month and a half for any of the new guys to learn where the hell they are on the court. Would you retards rather have a non-conference schedule like the Mutes or actually go play tough teams on the road to try and improve? If you are really that down on this team then stay home and watch the Jazz on tv. :roll: (cuz they REALLY suck and want to)

The most frustrating part is that it our seniors that do not look very adjusted. I am all for giving them time. Our effort on Saturday was poor. By the way, USU has hit the ground running this year and they look in pretty good form. So why can't we?

USU's roster is loaded with Seniors and others who have been running that system for years now. Let's face it, we have a lot of new guys and 2 new starters while USU doesn't.

Agreed. Although I agree with AJWildcat to a certain extent, I think it's perfectly reasonable to be a little disappointed after Saturday's game. I won't take AJ's usual asshole approach and call all of you retards, but I do think our expectations may be a little high after how we finished last season. I didn't think Scotty and Mook's departures were going to be too devastating, as our incoming class was so strong. But in the end, it's worth remembering that this is a very different team from last season. We have a freshman and a sophomore in the starting lineup, and three more freshman that are already logging decent minutes off the bench. Not to mention Hajek being out of commission. It may take some time to gel, and perhaps we won't see that non-conference win-loss record we all hoped for. I guess I won't care as much, so long as they have it together by the time Big Sky play begins.

For all of you complaining and hating on this team, get a clue! You all should have been around during the Larry Farmer/Denny Houston years then maybe you jackwagons would appreciate how damn good we as WSU hoops fans have it now. :twocents:

I was around in those years and the bad years under Huston & Cravens. You would be hard pressed to find a Weber fan my age that has been to more games than I have. The seniors talked before the season that this was the year to make a statement. Call me a Jack wagon all you want, we lack senior leadership!

USU basically has 1 more senior logging significant minutes than us. We have 3 seniors that play significant minutes. It's not like we have all freshman out there. Next year I will buy the whole we are young thing.

USU
Shaw = 24 mpg
Medlin = 31 mpg
Butterfield = 29 mpg
Roland = 24 mpg
Harris = 5 mpg

WSU
Berry = 32 mpg
Tres = 26.5 mpg
JRich = 28.5 mpg
Fulton 6 mpg

actually I don't think it would be all that hard, but that discussion is probably best on a different thread.

I was, and I go back well beyond that, but that has no relevance to this season's expectations, successes or disappointments. Maybe you're wound a little too tight if you can't accept honest discussion from others without calling them retards and jack wagons. Seriously, it's ok to talk critically of "your" team or be disappointed with certain things and still love them all the same. With regards to the Jazz, their situation was fully expected; with Weber, I had higher hopes in-state and OOC. Apperantly I was sippin' too much of the kool aid and am disappointed after a couple of games but still have high hopes and still expect great things this season.

Here's the deal, Im fine with fans being upset with losses, what I am not fine with nor ever will be fine with is fans calling out individual players. That is total B.S. in my opinion. :twocents: As non paid student athletes I don't think the players should be singled out by faceless posters on a fanboard of their own team. :twocents:

@hawks

I forget who but someone kinda called me out early last season when I was being kinda critical of Bam and what seemed like worse play the start of his SR year that what I saw his SOPH and JR years. They said something to the effect of "after he's gone next year, you're gonna realize how important he is to this team."

I never discounted how important I thought he was, in fact, that's why I was looking for the same level of play, but I did constantly think about him not being here this season the rest of the year. I was having a hard time wondering who I though would be harder to replace between him and Mook. I think I finally convinced myself that Dev and JR, along with some very talented FR could collectively make up for the loss of Bam. So far, that hasn't been the case and vs CSU it seemed Mook was every bit the missing glue that Bam was.

It's looking like those two really connected the rest of the team together in so many ways that their loss is much more difficult than I already expected. I don't doubt that this team will figure out how to get back to that point but it will surely take a little time. I think Dev, Jr, and Tres have to replace that outgoing SR leadership that Bam and Mook certainly showed.

It's not particularly exciting that UTEP took care of CSU last night. Just gauging from the box score it looks like the big difference was rebounding; UTEP ATE GLASS.

AJ,
I want a strong non conference schedule and a high level of play.....and wanting both doesn't make me a jack wagon or a retard. I was a loyal fan during the low points of both of those coaches, and I've been anxious for this program to elevate to a level beyond a "top Big Sky program" for a long time. Winning in places like Fort Collins is what top mid major programs do, and I'm ready for that transition. That doesn't make me a hater, either.
