D1 Transfer Season Firing Up

!6 added to the list since yesterday. The total is up to 109 for the year, so far. There will probably be another 400 to 500 added to that list in the next few months. I bring it up because many of these players slide to teams in the BSC and many slide out of the BSC. It's a fact of life in D1 hoops right now.

I don't think that we are in the market for any transfers, but you never know. We already know that we will be having someone transfer out, we just don't know who yet.

Interesting times. :coffee:

Hopefully Tals favorite assistant will be transferring out too.

That's the other thing that people should do. Before you post about what a coach does or doesn't do, don't you think it might be a good idea to attend a few practices to actually have an idea about it? Otherwise, you are just taking a shot in the dark or repeating hearsay/rumors. I hear a lot of things on this forum that are stated like they are facts, and couldn't be farther from the truth. I get shot down when I try to point those things out. Maybe that is what these boards are about. I guess it gives some clueless people a place to vent. :wall:

And who says you are good at evaluating players and coaches? Your posts man, they are something else... You are the one who said we would get big minutes/production from Dallas, Court, Ary-Turner, etc. Shows how much attending practices matter. You also love it when we play pasties at home...
I consider our home OOC games as scrimmages. What do you have on me know olds?

Why did you just assume that I was referring to you?

Well, I know I don't come on the boards to hear what the all-knowing oldrunner has to say, to be talked down to, or labeled clueless or others things. I value everyone's opinion on the boards, whether or not they think Rahe is the best thing to happen to WSU bball, needs to go, or anywhere in between. Attending practices doesn't make your opinion more valid than others with regards to the performance of the team. Knowing more or less about the team, coaches, or even the game itself really doesn't determine who gets to voice their opinion regardless of what their opinion is. Seriously, its a fan forum to discuss/debate whatever, not a lecture hall to be told what we think or should think about the program.

I don't know if olds has been taking double the Geritol or what, but I am not a fan of all of the talking down and name calling lately. He is usually better than that, but he has posted more incorrect insider information than the rest of us put together. I have attended a few practices and that doesn't mean I saw anything spectacular from our assistants. I know that there will be likely Fire Rahe threads and other things that not everyone will agree with but that is how these boards are.

Maybe olds just got tired of being criticized by a certain few fans on this forum for stating his opinion so now he's retaliating. Everbody has a breaking point, Old's must have reached his.

It's kinda like being accused of being a name caller when there is absolutely no proof it's true. Sure wouldnt make the accused very happy...

There are several fans on this site who have called others names and repeatedly treat others rudely that seem to get a free pass on this site while others are condemned. If you're going to bother calling some out you should make the effort to call them all out.

Wow...fellas, just remember whenever you point a finger, three are pointing back at you. I just love knowing there are people out there that actually give a damn about Weber State Sports and that want to see improvement and progress. Such potential and we are driving for it to be realized.

So, in regard to this thread. Did anyone else notice that the bleeding of players at NAU is happening again? Top two players are leaving Murphy's squad. Looks like he will be recruiting an entire new team again. I don't understand why the Jacks are continuing with him as HC.

NAU seems to be a real mess right now. They moved away from what made them competitive in the past, shooters and role players. They tried to get the more athletic guys and they were able to find some good athletes, but they were not good basketball players. Let's face it, the good athlete who is also a skilled player usually goes to a high major program. We do get a few in the BSC, but not many. NAU didn't get any, or at least keep any. I know that we passed on a few of their guys when we could have signed them. At any rate, I also don't see how their coach keeps his job and I am sure that he is on thin ice. The Jacks have fallen a long ways after they lost Howland as their coach. when they do get a new coach, they may want to redesign their recruiting model. :coffee:

You can now include 8 University of Pittsburgh players who all asked for, and were given, releases after their coach Kevin Stallings was fired.

Evansville fired their coach and seven players transferred out today. San Jose State lost three today. It's really heating up now.

Add our own Trevon Ary-Turner to that list.

There is always the chance for more to transfer out from WSU. We will see.

Former Wildcat Jeremiah Jefferson transferring from Jackson State.

Recruiting a full class of kids from the the same AAU team in Florida was an abject failure. Recruiting junior college players was working but NAU quit doing so. Basketball makes me sad.

One of the interesting things to come out about the situation in Flagstaff is that your new President has had a conversation with your coach and instructed him to take another look at his recruiting model. That tells me that he is on a short leash and being watched closely. I don't know if more JC's will help, but I do know that NAU was their most successful when they surrounded a couple of great shooters with a lot of role players, blue collar sorts. That may not be the most exciting basketball, but it was Howland's ticket to a better job. :coffee:

MT. Jack, for you, I miss the days of Adras. History is proving him to being a far better coach that what was thought of him at the time he was coaching in Flagstaff.

Adras had big off-court issues.

The transfer list is up to 211 this evening, and growing fast. There are some good players floating around out there. There are also a lot of guys who should be playing at a lower division. I don't think that WSU is actively going after any of these guys, but you never know. :coffee:
