... winners of 8 out of the last 9 games.

6-1 in Big Sky play, 9-1 at home and on a 5 game winning streak.

Unfortunately, Montana State seems like the real deal winning their last 10 games (they even beat BYU).

Maybe LadyBall is not as popular but what an assinine coment to make. I am beginningto really not like you or have any respect for! Heres to some Lady Ball player that maybe will someday shove a... ok nevermind!! I will be nice!! Think before you write WSUn Purple and lighten up

In the words of the great Joe Glenn, "Big Time is where you're at." Whether it's 21,000 people watching the Tennessee women play basketball or just a few hundred watching the UNC women play, to those people in the stands and those players who work damn hard, it's all important.

Nobody cares about Ladyball.

Nothing like adding depth and substance to the conversation, WSUnPurple.

I don't wish you any enlightenment. You'll continue hating, regardless. I do hope you have 4 daughters and multiple grand-daughters, all of whom enjoy and thrive playing women's basketball while earning multiple college scholarships allowing you to contemplate this comment.

It's one thing to say you don't like the pace of the women's basketball or that you don't like the fact that the game isn't played above the rim. Comments I don't exactly agree with but can understand. It's another to be an utter d-bag about it.

By the way, UNC fans, I watched your women's Bears stick it to NAU on bigskytv. You have a disciplined and smart team. The Bears and the Bobcats seem to be the tops in Big Sky womens hooops this year.

HUGE games for the ladies coming up at Butler:

Feb. 10th - Montana State
Feb. 12th - Montana

If they win those 2 that puts them in the drivers seat (and with 3 of the last 4 games on the road, they are almost a must).

I wished I lived in Colorado, it would be fun to go to those games. Could UNC get both their basketball teams in the Big Dance?

With this win over MSU, UNC moves into a half game lead (I think) in the Big Sky. They play a Saturday afternoon game in Greeley against Montana.

After the last football season, this sure is refreshing.

:woo:

Lady Griz knock off UNC on the road today. After a rugged start due to injuries, the Griz are playing championship ball the last 4 weeks. It appears the conference will come down to the final week for the ladies.

Over on egriz they're talking about the huge boobies on the lady Bears, and how that gives them an unfair advantage! What do you think?

We have two of the hottest coaches between the womens basketball and womens volleyball coaches. Not sure if that helps but it certainly is nice.

No, you were talking about that. I believe everyone ignored you since it's quite apparent you are either a 12-year-old boy or Weber's answer to Ted Haggard. And wouldn't "huge boobies" make it harder to play basketball? How many athletes do you see with large breasts, anyway? But I digress…

Game analysis for people other than the above moron:

That was the most frustrating win of the season for my Lady Griz, but it was a win nonetheless. UM seemed to lose composure when NoCo turned up the pressure and went on that run, but the Bears then seemed to lose composure & force things once they cut it to one. Montana regained the defense & barely held on for the win despite some non-clutch free throw shooting. It seems that Lauren Oosdyke, who has been the Bear star all season (and had a great game in Missoula), had a pretty crappy week. She did nothing in the win over MSU and appeared to be a liability here. Selvig mentioned on the postgame that she was just tucking her head and trying to run over people down low, which is gonna get called an offensive foul every time.

It's a three-or-four-way race now, depending on how ISU does in Flagstaff tonight.

The Stretch Run is on:

Feb. 26 at Northern Arizona * 6:35 PM
Feb. 28 Idaho State * 7:05 PM
Mar. 5 at Idaho State * 2:05 PM

UNC is 10-3 while NAU is 4-9 Idaho State is a good 7-5. I have to think we shouls beat NAU setting up a heck of a 2 game showdown with Idaho State. If we split that series we end up with a 12-4 Big Sky season. Where does that put us?

Montana State currently sits 9-3 with the following 4 games left to play:
2/24/2011 * Eastern Washington Bozeman, MT 7:00 PM
2/26/2011 * Portland State Bozeman, MT 7:00 PM
3/3/2011 * at Eastern Washington Cheney, WA 7:05 PM
3/5/2011 * at Portland State Portland, OR 2:00 PM

Montana sits 9-3 as well with the following 4 games to play:
2/24/2011 * Portland State Missoula, MT 7:00 PM
2/26/2011 * Eastern Washington Missoula, MT 2:00 PM
3/3/2011 * at Portland State Portland, OR 7:00 PM
3/5/2011 * at Eastern Washington Cheney, WA 2:05 PM

The good thing is that Portland state is 8-4 and Eastern Washington sits 7-5 so the Montana teams have a real tough road to get the 3 wins they will probably need to win the conference.

We look to be in a real good position here.

Didn't I read that we are in a bad tiebreaker position for the ladies too? Win out and get the other two to lose one - that's not asking that much is it?
