Three solid games to finish up the non-conf schedule.

DU tomorrow night. We lost at Denver last year on a 3 pointer with 1 second left. The guy who made it was 0-7 in the game before that. We're favored by 5.

Wyoming. They lost to DU earlier this season.

UNLV. We've never played them before. They lost to Wyoming this year. Homecoming for Davis.

Dominating win over Denver tonight, 83-63. Extra sweet after last year's heartbreaker.

The 3's were falling. Johnson had five and Dre had seven, one of which was a buzzer-beating half-court gem to close the 1st half, with UNC up by a ridiculous 23.

Our bigs did a solid job against DU's size advantage. When DU beat Wyoming earlier this season, DU's 6-10 center Amigo had 22 and 10, and DU out-rebounded the Cowboys 42-22. But tonight Amigo was mostly contained, getting a tech and riding it out on the bench with just 8 and 5. And though we were outrebounded somewhat as expected, we countered with 8 steals, one by JD who took it all the way for a monster dunk.

Hopefully we continue this in Laramie next Tuesday. Go Bears!

What a great win. It would be nice to see the women and men get on nice little winning streaks (it seems like when one loses the other wins and the other way around).

@Wyoming tonight. 9.5 point underdogs. Would be awesome to beat these guys. Go Bears!

EWU, who we open conference play with in ten days, just played at Wyoming last week. EWU played well, jumping out to a 9-0 lead and hitting 15 3's, but Wyoming eked it out in OT.

BTW, 30 point underdog North Dakota was up at half over #12 Gonzaga in Spokane. Zags escaped in OT, but another gritty performance by the Big Sky against a stacked opponent. “We were lucky that game was at home,” Gonzaga coach said.

Nice win Bears! On the road against Wyoming, first time in 80 years!

We started the game 15-0. Wyoming didn't get a lead to it was 72-71.

Great effort from the bench, and huge shots by Dre in 2nd half.

Awesome alley-oop from Dre to JD.

Wow, I just got back from a work trip to Puerto Rico to find we beat the friggin Wyoming Cowboys! That is one I really wanted because I have not been able to get the taste out of my mouth from the times the Bears have outplayed them in the past only to get jobbed by the refs (granted it's been a while but I hold a grudge).
Really makes the Denver Post omission of the Bears in their key game list even more silly since we took care of both DU and Wyoming (too bad we couldn't upset either CSU or CU).

Welcome back. Just in time for UNLV tomorrow!

Wyoming win was huge. Tough place to play. They actually have the altitude advantage on us, 7220 > 4700.

You're right about the lopsided officiating. After we opened with five 3s (three by freshman Sanders) to start 15-0, a couple of our starters (Davis and Morgan) were quickly on the bench with foul trouble. Coach picked up a good tech to prod the refs out of their apparent bias. And our bench filled in nicely. Back up big Vercellino had 11 points and solid D. And of course Anthony Johnson.

Nice to beat the local D1 rivals. Clobbered DU, beat Wyoming in Laramie. Beat CSU the season before last and demolished Air Force (70-46) in our last meeting, on their court. CU will happen. Tough when it's always in Boulder, but that will just make it sweeter.

The Post omitting UNC from its top 10 Colorado games list was a joke. UNC/DU or UNC/Wyoming should always come before CSU playing at Arkansas. In the Post's defense, they only had 3 CSU games on the list and needed a 4th. Arkansas throttled CSU by 26. If we keep playing well and competing with the other local teams, maybe the Post's lazy "journalism" will acknowledge us someday. I suppose when the Rockies made the World Series there were some Yankees/Red Sox fans who were surprised to learn Colorado had a team.

@ UNLV tonight to finish up the non-conference schedule. By far our strongest opponent. We're 14.5 point underdogs. UNLV is 2-0 against the BSC so far, with easy wins over EWU and SUU. Go Bears!

They played well, had the lead with a couple minutes to go and of course collapsed. They seemed well coached though, UNLV was just way bigger and more athletic.

This Bears team is for real. Linder's done a great job. We were up against UNLV on their court with under 3 minutes to go. We had 2 three's rim out, and the refs missed a traveling violation that would have given us the ball down by 1. And we were 14.5 point underdogs!

Their roster is huge. A 7 foot freshman all american McCoy who will be an NBA first rounder in 6 months, two 6'11 guys name Cheikh and Cheikha but unrelated. A 6'10 guy...etc. We have 1 guy over 6'5. But WE OUTREBOUNDED them.

Jordan Davis was unstoppable. Sanders is just a freshman and is killing it on the boards and hitting 3s.

Credit to Dunn for hiring Linder, Etheridge, and Nicholson.

Coach Linder had a good remark about raising a new Big Sky Championship banner to replace the 2011 banner and honor not just this team but the kids on that team. This team can definitely do it.

Go Bears!
