MIDDLE OF THE ROAD 5-7 Sac St Offense in 12 games averaged 3.5 scores PER GAME (not including FG's) SCORING 43 TOUCHDOWNS this season. MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TEAM opening the season with 2 FBS opponents.

IN 13 GAMES with DII and NAIA openers and one more game than Sac St. the Bears offense managed to score 31 times this season at an average touchdown percentage OF 2.5 scores PER GAME or 17.5 PTS. Thats 31 offensive touchdowns (not including FG's). Additionally I would say this team is a senior talent latent roster in a 3rd year offense.

Mr. Collins, defensive coordinators are irrelevant in this league, get you an offense worth a damn and you'll be better off, please figure that out already.

Opposite end of the spectrum: EWU in 13 games scored 72 touchdowns averaging 5.5 TD's PER GAME,Thats 38.5 PTS PER GAME (not including FG's and defensive scores). What more is there to say?

Having an offense worth a damn is important, but unless you can keep your opponent from scoring more points than you, you will still lose more than you win. Considering that the defense only held one opponent to under 24 points, I'd say a new defensive coordinator is fairly important.

What bothered me most about the defense was that it couldn't get off the field when it needed. Way too many teams converted on 3rd and long. I also think we were last in red-zone defense. The secondary was a sorry thing to see.

I second that. The defense was almost completely incapable of getting 3rd down stops or any stops at critical junctures of the game. Teams routinely and consistently scored on long drives and big plays to put the games away.

On the flip side though, the offense would consistently move the ball and even occasionally finish with a score, except when the game was on the line. At which point they tended to stall, make critical errors (think pick 6's and penalties) and appear to do whatever it took to not win the game.

There is room for improvement everywhere.
