Watched a little of today's game, some of the UW game, and a little of their first game. Can't say that there's a lot to take away from any of those three. I noticed that their starting QB went down with an injury but not sure how much of a gap there is between #1 and #2.

Key to this game will be the offense continuing to get on track (minimizing TO's!!!). I noticed we've had to shift a few guys around on the offensive line the first three weeks so I am wondering what the health of our line looks like right now. At one point we had Chris Shlitching in at Center.

Also not sure of the status of Kupp, Tiuli, and Webster on D. Hopefully they just sat out today's game for precautionary reasons and are ready to go in Missoula.

The keys to this game are turnovers and penalties. Two variables we have control over and will assure we lose if not controlled.

I have watched all three of their games. I think their offense is probably a little better than ours at this point and defense is probably on par with ours. We have the talent to beat them but if we can't take care of the ball this game could be another 2015 repeat.

All three are questionable for Montana. Terence Grady is most likely done for the season. We have a couple of injuries on the offensive line but hopefully nothing too serious.

It'll be interesting to get an injury report, as that'll be a big deal for this game. I think Montana is coming in quite a bit healthier than us. Hopefully, we see a lot of returning guys for the league opener.

If we can get to 2-2 after four, that'll be mission accomplished for this team after a rotten start.

Absolutely, a road win in Wa-Grizz would be huge going into the conference play. The only other nail biter on the schedule is UND in Grand Forks, but after watching them get dominated yesterday i'm not sure they will be ready for our offense.

Weber and SUU might be tough games.

It will help us if we pressure their replacement QB...big game for him so whoever their #2 is I don't think he has much game time..and this is a big game!

I have a bad feeling about this game, our defense has some big injuries and the O hasn't been clicking so far this season. OL needs to step up and give GG time, praying for a healthy DL this week in Missoula

@ Fordham we put the ball on the ground 3x losing two of them, threw 2 pics, and 11 penalties for 95 yards. Against a better opponent those 11 penalties could be 11 drive killers same result as a turnover. VERY sloppy play and it could equate to a loss in Missoula

I hate to be one of those negative guys, but we didn't play all that well offensively despite what the scoreboard said. Fordham wasn't very good.

I'm pleased for the progress, don't get me wrong, but we have a LONG ways to go on the offensive side of the ball to be a playoff caliber team. Hopefully that progress is evident on Saturday.

Well here it is. The biggest week of the season for both Eastern and UM. I'm sure you guys are wondering about our QB situation so let me fill you in. Phillips is most likely out for the rest of the season so in steps redshirt freshmen Gresch Jensen. At 6'2 210, he's almost identical to Phillips in almost every aspect. They both have great decision making skills, they both can tuck and run the ball if they need to and they're both virtually the same size. The one thing that Jensen has Phillips beat though is that he can read the defense much better and can change the play at the line of scrimmage if he has to. Before the season started Jensen was my pick for the starting QB, but Phillips ended up winning the job because he had more experience and great team leadership. Hope to see a lot of you guys at the game eagle nation. Sell out crowd under the lights and should be a great game.

Just curious about the Griz perspective, any guesses as to how this finishes? My general thought is that neither team has really given an indication as to how good they might be. This is truly a toss-up game so far as I can see. Probably the healthier team that can minimize mistakes wins.

It's interesting that both teams have won big and lost big so far. It leads me to believe neither of us has established any type of consistency.

Oh I agree. This could quite possibly be the game of the year in the big sky. I could see this going to double overtime. I will say though that I think the griz have a slight edge just cause we've been relatively healthy. It seems like half of your guys' team is out.

I personally think this is a huge game. By end of year EWU will probably back to full speed. Griz get them early which is huge, but now with the QB loss it's huge for EWU to get the griz this week. Honestly see this still as the best 2 in the bigsky. I don't trust Weber and UND I think is a little overhyped at this point. If both team play well this could be one of those classics. 42-45 type games under the lights in a sold out wa griz. Or one team might not show up and it could be 2015 all over(could be griz on the wrong side this time) it's gonna be a good game I think and a LOT apt intensity. I know some players personally and they are...wanting to beat EWU and wanting to prove how good this team really is. That being said I'm sure EWU wants to put the naysayers behind and prove they are top 10 material. TBD
