This team's not better than the 2015 version that started its nose dive right around this point in the season. I don't think we'll make the playoffs this year, but a 7-4 record wouldn't be awful for a first year head coach.

Depth chart doesn't show him injured. Just another anomaly is the play calling and execution. Jones should be on the field at least on 3rd and 4th downs.ewueagfan said:

As bad as tonight was, there is no reason we shouldn't finish 8-3. I'm not sure however, that'll be enough to win the Big Sky though.

Gage is the best player on this team. We don't have a single receiver that can run a fly route. He got picked tonight when Simba Webster ran away from the ball allowing a safety to jump the route and pick him off. We can't run the ball for shit, even when the other team's star DT goes out of the game early. Gage made some mistakes, but the bulk of the problems were not his doing.
And again, defense allows a team tons of points. SUU has been a mediocre offense all year, and they torched us all second half. Our defensive line is a sieve. How many fourth downs have been converted on us this year?
Here's the situation, we're in a down year. We're fortunate to be 5-3, but the playoffs are still within reach. Think about this; it's a down year and we have almost no seniors. And yet, we are still likely to make the playoffs. That's a pretty outstanding state of affairs. Even with the bullshit schedules Montana plays, they aren't able to do that.
