Can I just say I LOVE how we can hit free throws this year? Always seems to have been a huge problem for us in years past.

Great road win without 2 starters!

that is a great attribute we have this yr that we are getting so used to being automatic. this still would have been a loss with typicall freethrow shooting. this yr is amzing to watch us at the line and how easy they make it seem. keep fouling us... :thumb:

If the Cats do a better job of hanging onto the ball, Weber wins by 15 or 20. Solid win by the Cats. Now go to Portland and get after the Vikikngs. I'm feeling that that game is going to be as tough. Hard to play well in their gym. I wonder if the team locker room will be the PSU swimming pools changing room again.

I love our Free Throw shooting abilities. With Eastern, you automatically know that you'll make a bunch of trips to the Free Throw line. With our Free Throw shooting skills, ones just had to realize that the Cats wouldn't lose tonight.

Really, really REALLY big win tonight, This win is huge. Now on to Portland State a team that is very hard to beat in thier gym, but with Lillard leading the way, nothing is impossible.

Lill and Bam are quickly becoming one of the deadliest duos in the country. Lillard finishes with 30 and Bam 19. After a rough start to his season, Bam is getting his shot back and coming into his own. It is good to see him coming around. I think he was getting somewhat frustrated earlier in the season with how opposing teams were defending him (last night was no different; Parker Kelley was border line molesting him at times). Also, Tres is getting stronger and stronger every game out. His role from last season to this one has changed drastically, especially with Bull and Mook out. I loved his effort last night. It isn't easy trying to guard Easterns bigs. They aren't necessarily the purest scores; yet, they are talented and can really move with the ball for bigs. Griffin, Johnson, and Edereain each have their own dynamic, which causes serious frustration for opposing bigs. Good thing they are each a bit undersized. Too bad Eastern doesn't use them more effectively. Nonetheless, it is really good seeing Tres and Bam playing with confidence.

One thing for Screaming or Ranger...why isn't Winford playing more? Personally, after watching Kelly (he is going to be a good solid player in the next couple of season) I came away scratching my head. Winford or Hankins are both more athletic and speedy than Kelly. In the case of winford, he can shoot the ball a lot better, and is a far better defender due to his speed. We all know he can score. I think Hayford is making a huge mistake by not playing him more. No Winford isn't a starter, but he can fit in nicely at either the 1 or 2 backing up Colimon or Forbes. As for Chiverton, he is extremely talented, but unfortunately, he reminds me a lot of former Wildcat Frank Session. At the end of the game, it seemed as if he was pouting. It seems, and I could be very wrong, that he is a Chiverton first kind of guy. I'm probably way off, but that is what I saw. Anyway, great game last night. Always fun watching the Eagles.

One small tip from the EWU game: Mahoney needs to ball fake on passes from high post. He tried 4-5 times to get to low post, but the passes were stolen or deflected. You have to make the defender get off balance.

Otherwise, I am happy we get out of Cheney with a win, EWU is a dangerous team to play, especially at home. the annoncer was bemoaning the fact that it is still holiday break and that the students were small in number at the game. It was about the only thing he got right last night. Names, height and scoring are on the sheets in front of you....

One note on Chiverton, he is playing with a fracture in his foot which I think limited him some, both in playing time (which may partially explain Parker Kelly's minutes) and effectiveness.
