Lill and Bam are quickly becoming one of the deadliest duos in the country. Lillard finishes with 30 and Bam 19. After a rough start to his season, Bam is getting his shot back and coming into his own. It is good to see him coming around. I think he was getting somewhat frustrated earlier in the season with how opposing teams were defending him (last night was no different; Parker Kelley was border line molesting him at times). Also, Tres is getting stronger and stronger every game out. His role from last season to this one has changed drastically, especially with Bull and Mook out. I loved his effort last night. It isn't easy trying to guard Easterns bigs. They aren't necessarily the purest scores; yet, they are talented and can really move with the ball for bigs. Griffin, Johnson, and Edereain each have their own dynamic, which causes serious frustration for opposing bigs. Good thing they are each a bit undersized. Too bad Eastern doesn't use them more effectively. Nonetheless, it is really good seeing Tres and Bam playing with confidence.
One thing for Screaming or Ranger...why isn't Winford playing more? Personally, after watching Kelly (he is going to be a good solid player in the next couple of season) I came away scratching my head. Winford or Hankins are both more athletic and speedy than Kelly. In the case of winford, he can shoot the ball a lot better, and is a far better defender due to his speed. We all know he can score. I think Hayford is making a huge mistake by not playing him more. No Winford isn't a starter, but he can fit in nicely at either the 1 or 2 backing up Colimon or Forbes. As for Chiverton, he is extremely talented, but unfortunately, he reminds me a lot of former Wildcat Frank Session. At the end of the game, it seemed as if he was pouting. It seems, and I could be very wrong, that he is a Chiverton first kind of guy. I'm probably way off, but that is what I saw. Anyway, great game last night. Always fun watching the Eagles.
