PORTLAND, Ore. -- Northern Colorado Volleyball is three sets away from its second NCAA Tournament appearance in three seasons.

Kelley Arnold, less than 24 hours after earning this year's Big Sky Conference MVP award, had 16 kills, on .412 hitting, and 11 digs for the Bears in a 3-0 victory against Eastern Washington in the semifinals of the 2011 Big Sky Conference Volleyball Championship at the Stott Center.

Set scores were 29-27, 25-18, 25-18.

Top-seeded Northern Colorado (21-8) hit .271 for the match, out-dug the Eagles 69-61 and won the blocking battle, 4-3, in its third victory against Eastern Washington (13-15) this season.

Those 69 digs are the most for Northern Colorado in any of its three-set matches this season.

At the 2011 Big Sky Conference Volleyball Championship on Friday, Northern Colorado and Portland State will move on to the championship match on Saturday at 7 p.m. PST. This will be the third time in three years PSU and NC will meet in the championship match.

Northern Colorado defeated Eastern Washington 3-0 (29-27, 25-18, 25-18) and Portland State defeated Sacramento State 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19).

Good luck Bears!!!

Bears take the first game 25-19. Some cracking points with both teams diving and blocking and seeing the ball go back and forth across the net several times before the kill.

What an awesome performance. 3-0 Bears! They are on one hell of a run. If they play a regional in Colorado, be sure to make it if you can. Really entertaining.

Awesome win for the Bears!!

Yep, hopefully they'll be close. I made it to Fort Collins to watch them play in the NCAA's 2 years ago, and it would be nice to see them near here this year.

I like the clean sweep but rumor has it even though MU finished 7th they are still blaming the refs... :o
