EWU at WSU GDT

Amen Vic and Cal! I've only been following this program for 8 years since I became a student here, but I'm as invested as most. I fully trust the coaching staff of this program. They've proven over and over and over and over again that they can recruit and get the best from every player. Just when you think this team is going to have a down season, or the schedule is too much...they prove you wrong. In 2010, they started the year ranked 17 and won big game after big game all the way to a Natty. In 2012, the schedule looked to big to overcome. They reached the semis and finished 12-3. In 2013, the schedule again looked brutal and Oregon State was supposed to wipe the floor with us. We all know what happened and it was back to the semis. This season, again, we complained about the schedule. Our own fans were predicting 20-30 point losses in Pullman. Well guess what, Beau and staff once again reminded you that this team has more heart and talent than anyone in this league. Time will tell how special this season could be, but maybe, just maybe, people will stop doubting and enjoy the ride! !

GO EAGS!!!

Guys, this is football. Not Jesus. You are reasonably allowed to pick against your team. Especially when they have a new offensive line, new quarterback, new linebacker corps, and are playing a P5 team. Our team overcame adversity and I love then for it. But there is no reason to try to shame people like they are committing deadly sins.

You can do whatever you want and pick whoever you want. My point is, every couple years it seems that we hear people saying it's looking like a rebuilding year or the schedule just looks too tough and the program has to once again prove they don't rebuild, they reload and the tough schedules are something they look forward to. Are they going to win the Big Sky every year? No, obviously not. I'm simply pointing out that we should all just chill and enjoy what this program does year after year with below average facilties and budgets. It's really quite remarkable.

What would be *really* nice is if we could do something about those below average facilties. It seems like the football program is doing their part; might be nice for the university to step up and get Eastern caught up with a level-adequate stadium.

Right? Im just waiting to win the lotto so I can pay for the new stadium, and have my own personal box seats for eternity

Rjones61,
If you are referring to what I wrote, I am not attempting to shame anyone. I apologize if that is what you think, we are all Eagle Fans, and all we are doing is expressing ourselves. Sometimes we have to let others know the team is doing it best they could at the instant. I know we have an Outstanding Team, even with the New Players on both Offense and Defense. We all express our opinions, the Coaches makes the final decisions. Have a great day. Hope to see you at Quest today, "IMPULSE ROOM" at 5:30 p.m., if you can. Vic Wallace

One other thing that was amazing from Saturday is that we actually out-physicaled a Pac-12 team. Yes, I realize WSU is more of a finesse team, but so are we. Yet in the fourth quarter of that game, the Cougs were limping off the field and looking all beat up while we looked fresh and ambitious. That was really a sight to see. Let's be honest, we haven't been the toughest team for a while now. But the team looked strong as hell on Saturday.

I think the defense put in some serious work over the past spring and summer. The difference in attitude was very noticeable to me.

:thumb: The coaching changes have been a net positive and I am glad to see this team embracing the idea of what they can be. It is obvious in their demeanor. Wish I could be up there to take it all in personally, but glad for those who are. This is going to be a special season.

The important thing will be to make this last for the next 12 weeks (and playoffs, although we're a long ways from talking about that). We looked great in a losing effort at Oregon last year and then looked quite pedestrian the following week at UNI. Both of our next two games are against teams that are really good- probably as good as WSU- so we need to keep the intensity and the toughness cranked up to 11.

Not trying to shame anyone, sorry you feel that.
What I get tired of is hearing all the bad things that will happen when the poster has no clue how much the kid grew in the past 9 months, or how much his skill level has developed. And does not give any consideration for all of the hard work in the last 9 months. And how much the new coaches have contributed to the team and staff. For every negative opinion there is positive news if the poster chooses to consider it. Yes, I am a homer but someone needs to be.
BTW- I would like to change my vote on the season predictions to 11-0 :D

Full disclosure, I didn't think we had any shot to beat WSU. Most people didn't, but I think it was generally a sense of the unknown more than any kind of outward negativity. Going into a PAC 12 stadium like that and beating them at home with a brand new QB and entirely new offensive line is just crazy. But, it's a testament to the great recruiting we've had recently and the preparation that the coaches and players put in over the summer.

To All,
Practice Tuesday and Wednesday went on very well. So far we have no major injuries, just a few sore ankles, etc. Practice tomorrow is at 2:05 pm, we will there. Heard from Bill Chaves the game will also be on DirecTV, Channel 791. I did check this out, it is confirmed, set my DVR. Don't be surprise on Saturday if you see some wrinkles in the game. Get ready for a hell of a game. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
It is amazing how much people came up to us and ask where the best seats are at Roos field. There will be some "NEW Fans", that are really interesting in what they have seen in the Eagles. Like I have said earlier, if this team play the way they played last week or better, they will beat NDSU. I would also throw this out, after the UNI game on the 17th Sept, we could be 3-0, No, I haven't been smoking anything, don't smoke.:) I love what I have seen with this team, and the way the Coaches are working with them. These new Players on OF/Defense, are really doing Outstanding work. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
Team will have walk through at 08:00a.m., Busses will depart the area for the Airport, which is on the other side, team is flying Chartered. Unknown time of Departure from Airport. We will be there for walk through, and follow the Buses to the Airport. Watch the team Depart from inside Terminal, and hopefully welcome them back that evening, with a "WIN". :thumb: I can honestly say this team is ready for the task ahead of them. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
Received from Bill Chaves on Wednesday the game will also be on the above, Channel 791. I did check the guide for that Channel, and it was confirmed. DVR is set. Good Luck. Go Eagles!!!!!. Vic Wallace

I've been waiting for this day for a while. Screw WSU and their taxpayer funded program.

Probably a dumb question but, what does that mean exactly?

I think he is referring to Martin Stadium being built with the help of taxpayer money. Or was that just UW? I admittedly don't follow this closely.
