EWU @ ISU

Two series inside the red zone...2 turnovers. We have to hang on to the damn ball next half. Run the ball...and get more aggressive on defense.

super duper pitch play followed by a tip play... am unclear what I'm seeing here. all aboard

both TO's following a high risk play call.. this is one unfocused team without an identity methinks. I'd go with your plan :thumb:

This looks like Idaho 2.0. Just a dogshit effort. Without a couple turnovers, we’d be getting run out right now. I cannot understand our total refusal to run the ball. It makes no sense. We run right down the field for a TD in the first drive and then decide to just chuck it deep every play. Yes, Merritt is having a bad game. But Pierce isn’t. Give this guy the ball at least 12 times in the second half, especially if ISU keeps showing nickel and dimes. And for Christ’s sake, play some goddamn third down defense.

I also think we rotate our backs too often. Pierce is the feature back yet we take him out every 2 plays or so. I mean is it a conditioning issue, or what?

Yup. It’s like the offense wants to be unorthodox for the sake of being unorthodox, even if it makes no sense whatsoever and just leads to problems. Just grind out first downs. Why take risks when you don’t have to?

Last INT wasn’t a risky play IMO. The pass could have been a little more accurate but #1 should have caught that.

I agree, EB3 put nice touch on the ball and it hit receiver in the hands.

It was the play "before" the TO on both TO's. Like Dopa said more eloquently than I, unorthodoxy for unorthodoxy sake... It's a rhythm thing I believe that leads to mishaps, mistakes and general unfocused play.. Agree that the TO's plays weren't super risky.
