Agree with you Dopa.
I get why they want EB to stay in the pocket but man there was so much running room for him. I wonder if it is a precautionary thing for potential injury...saving it for playoffs or for next season...either way...tough to watch and not scream...RUN THE BALL EB.
Funny, my wife and I were reliving the SUU game we attended he started a few years ago, when he took off and made the entire defense look slow. Those were the days
Glad for one of the ugliest win's ever and EB3's accuracy late in the game. A loss may have ended this season and next..
The big piece of that puzzle is Eastern switching to an RPO-based scheme from a zone read scheme. This is why I put in my comments that I don't like the RPO. We've got a highly mobile QB and we never let him work the edge. There were so many games in 2018 where he just watched the DE flow outside and took off for a massive gain. I don't understand why we moved away from it, because it was ruthlessly effective. It's also an easier scheme for the offense to make reads.
Barriere played very well on Saturday, so credit to him is due. But we could make more of his talents than just having him drop back and throw 50+ passes. While we've scored plenty of points in the last two games, we also had a lot of inconsistency. Plus, we've got a bunch of receivers that have had a case of the dropsies, and being able to run the ball would certainly lower our risk and keep us moving the ball.
