If we make tackles on initial defensive contact, we'll win a lot of games. On the flip, if you see our first defensive player miss the tackle, we'll be mediocre. We need to be able to make stops on first contact, not rely on gang-tackling.

If you watch the games we lost last year, or even late against Southenr Utah and NAU. our defense simply didn't make tackles against their playmakers. Good defenses win in one-on-one situations; bad defenses don't make the plays and require everyone to be involved in the tackle.

Nevada will force us to make one-on-one tackles, the pistol really forces that. If we make them, we've got a shot. If we don't, it'll be a long night. Based on the way the defense closed out last season, I'm still skeptical.

Dopa, why the constant worry about the OL ? From the practices I've seen they seem to be bigger and faster than last year, with a lot more attitude! They also seem to have some depth there this year !
 
Nevada may be looking past us...They have no film on our team. It is always a dangerous situation to just anticipate a win, because a team is in a lower division. They better be ready. From Vic's posts it sounds like the 'Baldwin Boys' will be hungry for a season opening victory.
 
The entire team is hungry for a "Victory". Don't be surprise if they pull it off. Once I start to mention names, I feel kind of guilty, because I know I am leaving numerous great players we have playing for our Eagles.

I do not know when the Depth Chart will be coming out. I am going out to practice today at 3pm, will check with Coach Baldwin. He is such an approchable Coach. He never look past you, he is always willing to talk to you if you make an attempt. Saw him on TV a few days ago with KHQ on the Red Turf, he looked sharp with his Red Eagle Jersey, Black Trouser, matching the Turf Color. Well the team should have a great practice today, it is presently 60 degrees, and they have two practices today, 9am & 3pm, with a little drizzle. I am going back to hit the sack, the rain drops on my boat is making me sleepy.lol. Go Eagles!!! Vic

Got the audio working.

Hmmm, sounds like a rough start.............21-7 Nevada. Eagles with the ball on the 27. It'd be nice to get a score before half-time.

Sounds like we are able to move the ball. The penalties are killing us, though.

Shoud've known it would be him.

Taiwan = Game-Breaker
 
Damn, we had a drive going there but these damn penalties.....

At least we got three on the board with that stalled out drive.

We're moving the ball, but we need a defensive stand, some special teams play, and stop making mistakes with the penalties, and who knows.........maybe we can get back in this thing.
