EWU vs Weber State thread

Is Taiwan playing?

Spokesman Review online article says Taiwan hasn't practiced all week and is a gametime decision. I'd guess if they play him at all, it will be sparingly. I don't take this as a good sign.

And what this means - aside from defense needing to pull out all stops - is that our QB has to be rock solid today and I think we're all a little nervous about that as well. If todays showing is like the past four weeks - we gotta hope the coach starts thinking seriously about Panelli, Vitto... SOMEONE else.

Trying to keep a positive outlook on this, but it's getting tougher and tougher to do.

The days count down and I just have a bad feeling about this game... sort of like when we went into the Montana game in 2008 after laying an egg at Portland State.

Our offense looked sooooo bad last week, it's hard to imagine they suddenly come to life... and frankly our defense isn't good enough to keep Weber off the board on most of their possessions.

But our crappy performance last week made this a must-win, so it's do or die. Let's see what the team and staff are made of this weekend!

True on all accounts - but the good news is it's hard to imagine us playing a worse game than we did against MSU. And as poorly as we did play, we did move the ball against them, even without Taiwan. So, I think we'll come in slightly more focused in this game than we did against MSU, and I think we'll win it. Bold prediction, I know, but like I said we won't play worse than we did last week and we still have the talent on this team to win games.

ya, if you look at the box score, we did pretty well, just didn't convert to points...which is what really matters at the end of the day unfortunately.

Comcast cable 179 had this game listed in the menu earlier this week, and now it has been replaced. Is Big Sky TV the only video option? If so can you only watch it live today?

Anthony Larry still injured and out. Jason Harris out for the rest of his career, bummer.

And TJ not looking too hot in pre-game warm ups. Not a good sign, I'd be surprised if he plays.

We need EVERYONE to step up in this game.

That offside penalty was big. Otherwise, not playing too terribly on D so far.

Nice pick.

1st down Beaumonte.

I wasn't watching at the time, but the live stats and the play by play say that Gauthier started the game, went 3 for 3 and a touchdown, and hasn't played since.

Are they messed up?

There's some confusion about it. I don't think anyone really knows.

We gotta stop turning the ball over.

I'm fairly certain it was Gauthier. Besides the stat line, I ran into Chris Powers a few days back and I asked him why Gauthier started against CWU. He said he didn't know, but that he was also starting today.

I'm on the brink of losing all faith that BLM will ever start to play as expected.

Oh and FSN just said that Mitchell has the TD so who the hell knows :geek:

The D really showed up in that first half. Let's hope they can keep the intensity in the second half. Great effort so far.

EWU to get the ball to start the second half.

whoever is playing the team as a whole is doing what they need to win this game..
With the exception of the pick WHEN WE WERE DRIVING it down their throats, BLM has stayed within himself!!! He needs to take whats given and we'll be fine, we are pushing them all over the field and the D looks excellent !! GOEAGS !!! 14-3 at the half and should be more !!!

I said "on the brink". It was my sly way of staying on the fence 8-)

I really hope (more than usual) that EWU wins this game. I think not having TJ on the field will make the other skill players realize their own potential. IMO this game will showcase Baldwin's coaching ability rather than TJ's freak athleticism.

GO EAGS

I really like how we've been using our TE's more in this game.

Another nice thing - over 8 minute TOP advantage in the first half for Eastern.
