In less than 30 days the Hornets will be in camp. It’s time to pull out your pigskins and your cleats. Great splash page at Hornetsports.com. Let’s get the chatter going. What questions will be answered during fall camp? Who will be in fall camp?

GO HORNETS!!!!!!

Hey all, I noticed the 2008 roster has been posted. There's quite a few new names as well as a couple of missing names that I'm not sure why. Who has inside info.? Termite, where are you? HD - where are you as well? Is anybody out there?

Sacto - Check out the new 2008 fall roster. It is up. "HD", great job breaking down the youth, I mean experience. I did notice that Carmazzi was not on the list. However, I missed the other recruits. Please let us know what you find. Also, I noticed a 4th QB Loeliger?

Where's Travon Jones!? He's the lightening to Hilliard's thunder! I see Croxdale is on the roster, that's surprising. Congrats to him though and it would be interesting to see him get some p.t.

Termite - thanks for the report on Carmazzi. I sure hope super was trying to be funny. There's good news and good news. First, I don't think we'll have to rely on a freshman this season with our current roster. And second, by having Carmazzi, I think our future looks bright. Termite, we appreciate the information you have access to. What about the other recruits that "HD" pointed out?

While I was trying to have a little fun, let me be clear with this:

Before all is said and done, Sac State WILL win the national championship with Dom Carmazzi at the helm.

Uhhhhhh... Unless I missed something, I've never seen Carmazzi do any football activity on a Sac State field. It seems like the "internet community" is putting great faith into this guy. I'm not putting him down, but I've never heard of him or seen any of his work. On the other hand, I'm very impressed with McLeod Bethel-Thompson who transfered from UCLA. I've seen this guy throw and he has "cannon"! He's a pro-style quarterback which Sac State hasn't had since Ryan Leadingham...which was a very long time ago (I was a freshmen at Sac State). His accuracy needs a little work, but he's only a sophomore and I believe could prove to be more beneficial than Dom Carmazzi who is coming straight out of high school.

I forgot to put in my piece on everyone else on the "Missing 2008 Recruits." Feaster and Doverspike I have not seen, but I am familiar with Derek Kosub.

Kosub is unathletic and could have been a cancer to the team. My sources tell me that he had a BAD ATTITUDE, was not a team player and was not willing to work hard. I was glad when I was told that he has not been seen since Spring Workouts. I am very disappointed; this guy is supposed to be from a Pac 10 squad, but anybody who does not prove beneficial to the team needs get outta here (as far as attitudes go).

I think MBT will be the best thing for this program getting to the next level. He showed a lot of poise in that final drive against BYU in the Vegas Bowl (and ucla's stupid snapper and holder did a better job, they would have rightfully silenced the Provo crowd).

As for Carmazzi, he will take his redshirt year like the rest of them. Maybe we will see something of him by his junior year because right now its MBT, then Smith, this JC guy, then White (who is redshirting this year), then Carmazzi.

The real key to the offense this year is the receivers (will they be able to catch and hold onto the ball).

THR - You sound close to the program. Great stuff in your report. Keep us posted. I also believe MBT is going to be a stud. However, he will be pushed by Smith who I'm sure wants to keep the number one spot which is his until he's knocked off. Should be a great fall camp.

Thanks and I appreciate it, Homer. Smith will definitely add some fuel to the fire, but I'm told that MBT is the favorite on the team. I think by camp's end, he will be behind the reigns. I will do my best to always keep you and everyone else up to date with information. Starting right now: VVVV

THR, anything on Travon jones?

I regret to inform you guys that Mr. Jones will not be with the Hornets this year, which is needless to say (well, I think anyway), is a true blow to the Hornets offense. Unfortunately, he couldn't get it done in the classroom, so he's ineligible. I was looking forward to seeing his quickness and shifty running style this season. With this, I'm told Bryan Hilliard could possibly be in 1st place as far as the battle for this position goes. He's a big power back (which I am personally of fan of [power backs]), but for the Hornets often ran 3-Wide Receiver formation, I think a proven, fast, quick and shifty back who can not only run the ball, but sneak out in the flat would be better for us. Which brings me to Evander Wilkins, who is a quick back. He's not very big and definitely needs some weight on him, but my sources says he's got a lot of heart and is definitely speedy. He did make a few plays during the '07 season, but we gotta see if he can go for almost a 1000 like Hilliard.

Long story short, unless Sperbeck pulls in some JC guy (who will be coming in soon. I'll let you know when I find out) or another transfer, these are our two main competitors for the running backs this season.

***Thanks for welcoming me in guys. I'll do my best to keep you posted with the latest and answers to your requests.
