FCS Playoffs 2nd Round EWU @ UM Game Day Thread

motion to the right mitchell johnson decides he can make a play waaaaaay over there and leaves the guy going left to make a catch uncontested for the score... he's been a disaster tonight...

love the guy, but this should have been corrected after the first TD he gave up.

not to gloat too much but we are the better team..by a long ways.. with that I will say if I had been wrong I would have rooted for you going forward. All in good fun but a lot more fun when we win which of course was a for gone conclusion...nice game.

it's your special teams winning this game... that simple...hahahaha..dumb bastard

and our defense and our offense and yes our special teams...kind of the whole package..hahahaha right back at you lol.

your offense sucks...read your own board they are all saying it...now sorry bout calling you dumb.

look at the score how is that poor offense? 44 points I will take that offense all day long...303 yards and still in the 3rd q

Man, when the stars are not aligned, everything goes wrong. That's three catchable passes now that we've had drops on, two with Limu-Jones.

That being said, I think if we have decent special teams, I think this is a totally different game. We have no return game, no kicking game, and so many special teams mistakes that put the team in really bad situations.

I don't see us coming back in this one. Special teams play is just too much to overcome I think.

You're probably right. Great season. I still think with one more win in the regular season and a top 4 seed we'd have a better shot at a deep run. The special teams have to be addressed in the off-season.

The game's not over, but it really doesn't have the feel of a comeback. I agree the first round bye to heal up was critical. That being said, without special teams, I don't think any team can really make a deep run.

Your offense hasn't had to do much when they're gifted great field position on basically every drive. That's the point.

Likely the swan song for the Eag's... special teams has accounted for more than half of the Griz points.. short fields, poor tackling, block and on.... Just saw the Griz totally run by the blockers to make a tackle on that last punt...

Well shit. That’s probably the game barring something crazy happening. Awesome season and work by all the Seniors. Next year will certainly be interesting with almost a complete overhaul coming.

Losing due to special teams feels like death by a thousand paper cuts.... Three big drops that totally change field position and likely the score and one really bad play by EB3 on the pitch to the lineman. this will be the second smack talking team to beat the Eag's this year... Weber and the Griz

+1 it's going to be a new generation of Eags playing net year. I'm interested to see who wins the starting QB job in the Spring. There's a lot of QBs on the roster.

yea I guess you are right...all they are doing is scoring points at will..not very good at all..

and this is what not getting a seed looks like...we look beat up.

Maybe, but we just quit tonight. Hate to say it, but Hauck outcoached us by a mile. We did so many things to beat ourselves. Offensively, we scored and moved the ball, but bad defense and abysmal special teams. You can’t give up 50 to a defensive team and have a chance. Really disappointing effort all the way around.

Interesting, we all thought Barriere had to create yards with his feet. I don’t think he’s run upfield a single time tonight. He seemed scared to death to run the ball, even when the opportunity presented itself.
