FCS Semi-Finals vs SHSU

I did not realize that we play this same team for the next two seasons. Is the game in Cheney next year?

Welcome Seattle Eagle! An the game is wherever in Texas Sam Houston is.

Believe it or not, the COCKY pussy KAT posters already have a thread on where to book there room in Dallas for ther NC game. There is ABSOLUTELY no concern on the site foe the EAGS, some even think they will have 70 points on us. Guess they're in for a big surprise this weekend. Please remind them EWU beat Cal Poly 34-17. they managed 18-16 a few weeks ago.

I predict our defense plays an inspired game ala the 2010 semi's and comes out and punches them in the mouth early. If we can get an early lead, I like our chances.

I also think that Baldwin and best will scheme for their blitzing D and Kaufman, Edwards and Herd will get some big plays on them.

Also, the line has SHSU at -3 for this game. Fair enough, I guess, but an undefeated record on the red in the playoffs will be the difference in motivation for the Eags.

This is our game to win. Eagle fans know what the rest of the country chooses to not realize, our down year in 2011 was due to a ridiculous number of injuries. And, this team has the heart of champions, if you don't believe me ask Delaware or a dozen other teams that thought they had the Eagles beat.

We have the best coach in the country, great offensive talent, good depth, outstanding special teams, a defense that never quits and the HEART OF CHAMPIONS!

Sam Houston is a quality team that pissed down their leg on the big stage last year in Frisco. The Kats have no idea what they are walking into on Saturday.

Go Eagles!

Hello Eagle fans! Just wanted to jump in here and talk some football leading up to Saturday.

I think if someone is predicting SHSU is going to score 70 this weekend, they could be living in fantasy land. I dont see that happening at all. I think this could be another good game. The Cal-Poly game has nothing to do with this game. Montana St fans talked last week about how the Kats had a hard time putting the Mustangs away, but it didnt matter. The biggest factors in this game will be the intangibles.... time of possession, special teams play, turnover margin, sacks.... Kats won all of those last week vs Montana St.

I dont see anything wrong with starting up conversation now about where to stay in Frisco. I went to the game last year and remember really having to scramble to find hotel rooms after the Kats beat Montana.

I am looking forward to the home & home starting up next year. Will be good for some Big Sky teams to come visit again.

They have numerous topics over there regarding every aspect of our team, from the actual football to our fan forum, to our stadium, to the Spokane/Cheney area ... And in every one of them, they are hilariously disparaging. It's funny because it's so uninformed and so uniform. It's also funny because AlphaGriz1 pops up in most of them to spew his hate.

One more offensive output like last Saturday will be all it takes to get past the Bearkats and on to Texas. No amount of smack, or ridicule can change that. I'm going to enjoy the last home game at the biggest tailgate yet. Everybody come by the horse trailer for some drinks, food and a great time. GO EAGLES!

Is there a forum for how they have already bought their tickets for the game in Frisco yet?
I sure hope Dakota falls on their face this week just for that reason alone.

Yup, comments about how they've gotten them in the mail, where their pregame parties are going to be held, which section they're sitting in... It will be a gloomy place in both forums if the finals end up being between two Eagles teams!

To All,
Would LOVE to see a BIG CROWD on Friday for the FB PEP RALLY at Reese Court @ 2pm. Know most of you are either out of town or working. My Daughter and Myself will be there.

Reference Eastern Illinois Redbirds:
I sat in my seat and watch the Sportsmanship between both Teams. They hugged each other, shook hands, etc. After beating the hell out of each other. To me that is classy for both teams, Outstanding Sportsmanship. Someone has to lose, the other won, they lost, and they played an Outstanding Game. There are no reason(s), why someone should be calling them names. We are "BETTER" than that. I appreciate how some of our FANS a standing with the Redbirds. :thumb: :thumb: . Keep on pushing forward with our Eagles. I am very Proud to be an eagle Fan, win or loose in any games. Lets fill Roos Field this Saturday. Go Eags!!!!! Vic Wallace

I agree that intangibles will play a huge factor in Saturday's game, but time of possession, special teams play, turnover margin and sacks are actually quite tangible (measurable) factors. When outsiders evaluate this game they look at statistics (tangibles) and try to compare the teams based on those numbers. I agree, by just looking at the numbers, SHSU looks like the favorite. But, it is all the intangibles that make this match-up a lot more favorable for the Eagles.

So what are some of these intangibles, playing at Roos. Outsiders are still judging our home field advantage from the days when it was Woodward Field and have not opened their eyes to how much different Roos Field is from its past incarnate. All you have to do is be in the stands to see the difference in the players, students and fans. How has it manifested itself on the field? The obvious indicator is our great home field record. But, it is more then just winning, it is refusing to lose even when things look like they have slipped away. Figuring out ways to win, toughness, heart, moxie, coaching, etc. These are all intangibles that we have all seen manifested in this team and program.

It is hard to explain, but this team showed that it is a National Championship caliber team and proved it on the field. We know what a National Championship team looks like, and this year's Eastern addition fits into the mold. I'm in no way disparaging SHSU, but until they prove that they can win it all there is still a degree of doubt that they are capable of actually achieving that greatness. Many of these Eastern players have already proved that they are champions, and if they did it once they can do it again.

Go Eagles!!

I simply cannot wait to see Sam Houston try to man up on our receivers. I give them credit at their secondary play. However, I simply cannot see an FCS team playing man on us and being successful defensively. Nine times out of ten, there will be at least one receiver open. Also, switching from a man defense to a zone defense only confuses teams more, causing mayhem in the back field. I expect Padron to have a hayday. I love our defense, but they could have a little bit of trouble with speed and versatility with this match up. If we keep Sam Houston to below 300 yards, we will be sitting pretty. Although it has been said by several other posters, we need to win the turnover margin!

Not only do we need to win the turnover battle, we just plain can't turn the ball over! If we turn the ball over more than once (at most) we won't win this game. We can't give their offense more opportunities to score. 2 of the last 3 games, we've had a turnover in the red zone and that absolutely can't happen this week. I think we have a great chance to win this game, but our days of letting teams take a two touchdown lead, or letting a team back into the game when we have a big lead are over. This SHSU team will take advantage and we have to play our best game of the year to win!

GO EAGS!!

Whatever happened to people posting predictions on these threads? It's as if people are intimidated.

I also think we assert our will on these clowns. Padron has hit his stride and our D will be flying around like crazy.
