Football Practice

Hopefully this will help solve some offensive line questions. Also, read about what Rod Smith had to say to the team when he stopped by on Monday.

Good Stuff on the visit from Smith. Does anyone know the practice schedule for Friday and Saturday? I am hoping to be in town both days and watch as much as I can. I have heard there is a big scrimmage on Saturday also. I would appreciate if anyone can confirm.

There is no practice Friday, but the scrimmage is on Saturday, yes. I've been told the scrimmage will start around 10:30 a.m.

Going to the scrimmage today and hope to meet some of you Bloggers. I am curious to see the no huddle offense and to see this defense fly to the ball.

Let's see some pictures and a recap from those who attend.
Offense looked horrible. Lindenwood is going to kill us. Why did Collins hires this clown as his offensive coordinator?

Beardown, you are known for your pessimism but I saw the scrimmage from a different view as I saw a more dominating defense and the defense is ahead of the offense at this time of year . Once a starting QB gets the nod you will see a different offense and this no-huddle will wear down a lot of teams. Lindenwood will "NOT" kill us, my friend !!

Steele has a shoulder injury so I think he was limited today. Beardevil I'm just calling it like I see it. The offense was a huge cluster fuck. The players didn't know their routes, guys didn't know where to line up, the offensive line had something like 11 false starts. Let's face it, Armour should just stick with equipment manager like he was a few years ago. And yes, if we play like we did today Lindenwood will kill us.

Beardown, I also saw it differently today. To start off, our defense is very good and they absolutely fly to the ball. The corners are quick and I think our linebacking crew will be as good as it gets. The D-line was very active and mobile and seemed to close the gaps pretty effectively. Offensively, we struggled early but and had difficulty finding a rhythm with all the QB changes going on. Midway thru the scrimmage, they started to move the ball more frequently and consistently. I like the mix of receivers and RB's that are being used. I liked Orms and #10 the most at QB. Don't know his name.
Lindinwood killing us, I don't think so. It will not happen. This is a very good football team that is starting to bond. They went Bowling together yesterday and tonight they went to see planet of the Apes together. I would withhold such harsh judgment of Collins until after this first season. He is doing everything that should be done to be successful. It is a new era here and I think time will prove that Collins is the right person for the job. The hustle, constant coaching, and attention to detail is what is going to make this team great.

I know sometimes injuries spiral for no apparent reason......but what's up with the shoulder injuries?????What are we doing to prevent them? are they technique or instability driven?

By THE WAY.....I believe the players will respond.....Linewood will be out personnelled , and things will fall into place......let's not rush to decisions based on 1 scrimmage vs us!!!!!

Taking a look at the stats, it doesn't look to be too bad. But that's how it always is with these scrimmage, the defense usually dominates, and the offense looks shaky. I don't think you can base whats going to happen against Lindenwood, off these two showings though.

Announcement of starting QB has been delayed until Friday morning. Check The Mirror's website or Monday's edition for more information.
