Future Schedules?

I found the same 2014 Big Sky schedule that SLO Stang found.

I saw it somewhere and cannot recall where but it showed Weber State at Hornet Stadium on Sept. 13th as the game against a Big Sky foe that will not count toward the BSC standings in 2014.

And perhaps the Cal game will be on Sept. 6th? Just a guess as Cal has played PSU and EWU the 2nd game of the year after opening up against an FBS foe on the last Sat. in August the past two years.

and think Cal also played SUU on the 2nd Sat. of the season in recent past as well. .

They played Portland State on Saturday as well. Unless Cal improves a lot they look very beatable.
A win over a " local" Pac12 would have an especially great impact on our program.

Looked up future schedules on the Cal athletic site and the Weber State athletic site.

Cal has Sac State listed at home in Berkeley on Sept. 6, 2014 after opening on the road at Northwestern

And Weber State has Sac State listed at Hornet Stadium on Sept. 13, 2014.

So guess 10 games are set so far in 2014 for the Hornets.

Nice that the Cal/Sac State game is on the 6th of Sept. 2014.

Plenty of time for

The Sac State band, cheer and dance teams, Green Army and fans to rent Amador buses ( a Sac State sponsor) , or even go to the game on Amtrack from downtown Sac to Berkeley or take the short drive to Berkeley by car. Be great to see Sac State students and alum show up in force at Cal!!

Go hornets!!

Cal has posted their 2014 season and has us at Memorial Stadium on September 6th a week after the Golden Bears open up against Northwestern. Wonder who we open up against?

The radio team mentioned Menlo, E. Oregon & Weber as the early home non conference dates. It might be to our advantage to have a game before Cal.

would be great to open up a season at home. Seems like it has been many, many years since that has happened.

Opening that early leads to poor attendance. Competing with State Fair, holiday weekend, back to school, just look at the average over the years for openers at home.

You've been away too long GCM, the State Fair is now held in July! I recall the opener a few years ago on Labor Day Weekend vs Humboldt State that drew about 10,000.

was thinking indeed that Humboldt State was the last time we opened a season at home. Would love to see a home opener. So many years of two road games on the road to open our season. All for a home opener!!!
A great time for all the students back in school to come out and all rally around the Hornets!!

It looks like the 2014 football schedule has been announced...beside Cal the non conference schedule looks pretty easy. They should go 3-1 outside the conference. We have 7 home games. Conference schedule looks pretty manageable as our tougher games are home..the game at Montana will be a tough game.

August 30 - Eastern Oregon
Sept 6 -at Cal
Sept 13 - Weber St
Sept 20 - Menlo
Sept 27 - at Idaho St
Oct 4 - Montana St
Oct 11 - at Northern Colorado
Oct 18 - Cal Poly( homecoming)
Nov 1 - at Montana
Nov 8- Southern Utah
Nov 15 - Portland St
Nov 22 - at the team across the causeway

Eastern Oregon AND Menlo?! Wow, looks like we're really padding the schedule this year...

Anything less than 8-4 would be an embarrassment...

We get ISU, Weber, and UNC...

Basically like Portland State's schedule last season. Except they played Cal, Eastern Oregon and Humboldt instead of Menlo. I have no problem with it, 7 home games and a winnable FBS payday!

Great thing about this schedule is that 9 of the 12 games are within a 2 hours drive....This can be the year that we win 8 or 9 games

We can win that Cal game. Menlo and Eastern should be blowouts. UNC, Weber and ISU are no excuses games. If our coaching can truly right the ship, I can see us grinding out close wins over many of our other competitors. I want to say we end 8-4 with wins over SUU, Portland St. and them. 9-3 if we can embarrass the Pac again. Can also we a 9-3 season with a win over Poly which is doable on home turf. I wouldn't be surprised with a 7-5, but in my opinion a 6-6 or less season is unacceptable. Another loss to them is also unacceptable, even if we end 11-1.

I agree with Kadeezy, we really need to see 8 wins or more. This is probably the softest schedule in the BSC. We have two non-D1 games that should be wins and every bottom feeder in the BSC on the schedule that should also be wins. There will be no excuse for less than 7 wins this year, absolutely none.

Welcome to the board Hornet Fever.

I always love doing this super early.

August 30 - Eastern Oregon (W, 34-14)
Sept 6 -at Cal (L, 35-7)
Sept 13 - Weber St (W, 28-7)
Sept 20 - Menlo (W, 42-3)
Sept 27 - at Idaho St (W, 45-35)
Oct 4 - Montana St (W, 26-20)
Oct 11 - at Northern Colorado (W, 38-28)
Oct 18 - Cal Poly( homecoming) (L, 24-7)
Nov 1 - at Montana (L, 27-20)
Nov 8- Southern Utah (W, 19-14)
Nov 15 - Portland St (W, 42-31)
Nov 22 - at the team across the causeway (W, 31-29)

9-3 (6-2 BSC), 7 DI wins, and playoffs when we least expected it.
