Game 1 vs. McNeese State

I sure hope McNeese is a top 10 team by the end of the season because they are really handling us right now. Good stop by the Bears, lets see if the offense can move the ball and put points on the board.

First time at a football game in 5 years. This is some ugly football. The crowd seems generally bored and coach Collins still has a job somehow.

I think someone should alert collins we are down 17 late in the 2nd half. The playcalling has been awful

Day late and dollar short, the UNC football story. Also random observation, Collins is over 20 yards away from the team during time outs. He looks like a random dude on the sidelines. A better coach would have won it

Welcome President Feinstein to the misery that is UNC Bears football. Kay Norton left you with an unfinished Student Union, a mound of debt, and arguably one of the worst FCS schools in history, if not the worst. Do yourself a favor: fire Collins and go back to DII where the school belongs...

Hi guys! Miss me?

They won the first half 17 - 0 we won second half 14 - 0. Let's hope that we can play a better 1st half next week. It looks like we don't have the talent to run up the middle. Maybe we should stick to sweeps, reverses and draw plays for our running game. The passing didn't look too bad.

Fire collins and promote English, that would do wonders.

Yeah outside of the 2 or 3 ints it was fine...

That was a frustrating game to watch. UNC had so many opportunities. The offense looked bad, but they played a very, very, good defense. One of the best in the FCS. On the positive note, our defense is so much better than last season. Kept McNeese from rushing for over 100 yards. Just a year ago they were giving up over 200 yards a game. Kudos to coach English for having them ready. I think we were even missing Marshawn Cameron at the cb spot. Is he injured?

I listened to a lot of the game on the radio (internet) and it really was frustrating. The amount of stupid penalties that cost us points (are we intentionally trying to go backwards when we get in easy field goal range)?

A better coached team wins by 10, just super undisciplined in big moments. It took the defense playing lights out to finally light a fire under the team, they came out flat, and looking like it was a scrimmage.

Glad I missed this one as I was travelling but we should Get tshirts "UNC Football... kind of close but of course we lost... 2003 - forever"

It's harder to get over games like this because we left so much on the field. The stupid personal fouls, the worst one being the hands to the face when Wesley scored on the TD. Root missing all three field goals. Ugh...not okay. The positive being our defense seems much improved.
