Native must be Navajo. I am a mohican, and SMJ can be the dirty ute

 Nope. Not Navajo. :ugeek: Mohican would probably be closer linguistically, but not Mohican, either...

:?: Does anyone recognize the avatar? ;)

IS your avatar a really old Chicago Bears player?

Nope, but one of the greatest football players and Olympic athletes of all time.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Anyone know what the "C" stands for? (NOT Chicago)

Hint: First letter of the school which was the first off-reservation government boarding school for Native American Indian children. The football team for the school was coached by Pop Warner. Yes, THE Pop Warner.

Im really enjoying the talk on this thread about WSU and UNC! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...2 months ago this board was dead, not its coming back to life. MY question is why did we have so many more people chatting on our old board and not now? As soon as we changed over to the bigskyfans board it died off...

I think that Weber wins this one going away.
WSU 42
UNC 14

SMJ, I think you are right! Listening to some of the coaches and players, they seem to understand the importance of taking one game at a time. I don't think they are complacent. I think they are focused on UNC and not looking ahead to NAU.

I hope they also understand the importance of making a statement with every single game.

 Almost alone among the top 25 or so teams, Weber gets no respect. WSU, ranked #2 by the computer, is the only team ranked 18 to 20 places below their computer ranking in the the AGS (#18), Sports Network (#18) and Coaches (#20) polls. All the other top ranked teams are within a few spots of their computer rating. Only William and Mary, ranked 14th by the computer, gets similar "double-digit disrespect."

(Ref: http://www.championshipsubdivisionnews.com/index.php?blog=5&title=2008-fcs-polls&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1).

Weber needs to make statement wins with every game to get the sportswriters and coaches to pay attention.

By the way, the computer ranks the Big Sky Conference 4th among FCS conferences and 16th among all 27 Division 1 conferences and "independent" groupings.

I see that a lot of the teams ranked ahead of us especially the top ten will be playing each other a lot in the next 3 games. That is good news if we can just win...

I doubt we'll be double digits long...

Is the C for Cincinnatti?

Yup. Shoulda woulda coulda...

Regret that we will not be at the game today  but will be joining you in spirit :D and on Big Sky TV.

My tribe is matriarchal and the princess didn't give me my permission slip.

We have reservations for the NAU game next week, though, :D and SHE is planning for us to attend the EWU game, too. :D :D :D

Sloppy red-zone play on our parts. Everything from the 10 yard line to 10 yard line was clicking for the 'Cats today. We won but it should have been 40+ to 10 not 17-10 500+ yards of offense and our defense was great holding them to under 150 total yards. I think that the team was not quite as focused as they should have been, but they won and give credit to the bears for not quiting.

Go, Cats.
