Game Day @ Sac State

What is the penalty count in this one? I can’t remember the last time a flag was even thrown on Sac State. But our D.... holy shit. When you need a stop in the fourth quarter, our D always fails.

Penalties are 12 to 3 in favor of Sac State. Getting dubious, if I’m Best, I’m telling the conference to never put this crew on my field again,

And that’s your season folks! Hard to believe as full of hope as we all were that we’d be playing for pride after the first weekend of October. This team needs a serious restructuring, and a firm discussion about toughness. The stuff Leach said about WSU applies here as well, we just fold under pressure. It’s the exact opposite of what we’ve done historically.

Not sure where we go from here. Basically every game a must win from here on out. Not sure this 2019 has it in them but hope I’m wrong. Just too much youth playing significant roles and it’s obvious the coaching turnover hasn’t been as smooth a transition as we would have hoped.

This team was not prepared to play. Penalties all over the place. Inconsistent play all sides of the ball. Both offense of an defense of lines getting dominated. Pretty much every game this year has been this way so something needs to change.

Both calls are complete homer calls

EWUs fault for letting homer refs play a role in the outcome

Blaming the victim?

Your going to run into some incompetent homer officials on the road. You’ve got to be that much better.

Lol... if you think we’re getting hosed tonight, wait until we get to Missoula.

Enough of this one. Time to start over boys. We’ve got better players than the way they’re performing. That starts with the coaches.

I can’t remember an EWU team that has played worse than this in recent history. It’s inexcusable given the talent available. When was the last time we were this bad? 2006?

My thing would be to get with the coordinators and tell them to pick the best 11 they think they’ve got. And then play that 11 unless the situation presents itself where you need to move someone around (for example, adding an extra DB for third and long). Every time the D had a good drive, we’d open the next drive with different personnel and suddenly looked terrible on D. This moving players in and out can be fine when you’re completely healthy, but we’re moving DTs into the field that have no business being on the field. It’s ridiculous that this isn’t recognized.
