Game Day Thread @ WSU

Defense is out of sync. We finally changed the defense to something that makes sense, but if you spent all weak preparing to play soft zone, then dial up the pressure late in the game, the defense had no chance to get into rhythm.

In terms of athleticism, we match up with WSU in every single way. Jeff Schmeding destroyed any chance we had at this game.
 
Well, we had a couple of chances to make a game of it coming out of the half but couldn't get out of our own way. I still think we're good enough to win 7 or 8 more games with our remaining schedule. We won't see another team as good as WSU in the regular season this year.

Take off your homer glasses and actually watch the game. Your own announcers are talking about the poor ref calls and the ridiculous defensive plan EWU made going into this game.

I think the team is good. Mental issues aside, we win the BSC and challenge for a Natty. NDSU and JMU still look like the belle's of the ball. This one is water under the bridge. Team needs to focus on eliminating all these mental errors. Everyone knows how I feel about the defensive coaching staff at this point. Even with that as a serious drag, Eastern is a top 5 team.
 
F me, another horrible non-PI call. How much are they going to allow the guy to be held before they call something? FFS.

Your team won't be top 25 by the end of the season when they face real defensive coordinators. Don't get too cocky.
 
The better team won today. It is obvious that the talent gap has widened between the two teams since 2016. With that being said, you just can’t turnover the ball four times and make huge mental errors on special teams and not expect to get blown out like we did today. Unfortunately, it looks like the era of Eastern being competitive with PAC-12 schools has come and gone for now.

Granted, we just don’t have the team to beat a WSU this year. And WSU is good. But they’re not 30 points better. We’ve had some ridiculous blunders in this game and basically every questionable call has gone against us. Some of them downright aggregious.
