Why not leave Wheelwright on the redshirt list? If Bull is back by the new year he'll only miss 2 Big Sky games. Rahe already has a 8 or 9 he can play. Give Mook some minutes at the 3 and run some 3 guard sets with Bamforth, Lilliard and Richardson.

question:

what if lillard does not come back and goes to the nba? would we rather have a year of experience from wheelwright in that scenario?

I don't think that's what this is about....

Wheelwright is by far the quickest player on the team. When he gets rolling he shoots the 3 very well.
Lillard has rubbed off on him, and he's turned into a gym rat. Believe it or not he'll give us another dimension that we don't have, and with Lillard and Bamforth on the floor with Wheelwright another potent offensive weapon to deal with.

No doubt I would like someone with experience to step in at the point if Lilliard goes pro, but that's a decision that could have been made before the season started. I don't see how removing the redshirt for Wheelwright helps fill the hole at the 3. And speaking of which, just heard that we are looking at 4-6 weeks till he is back.

On Bull,s condition, 3 weeks - best case, 4-6 weeks - worst case. I think there were a lot of things that went into the move to play Wheelright. He may get a little time against YBU. However, I think he and Mike will see a lot more time against the next three or four teams we play. It would be good to have them both feeling comfortable with their roles by the time BSC play starts. I want to see them both do well, because if they are doing well the team will be doing very, very well. :thumb:
