Dopa can never support Best going. They ALL need to go and Best led them to this state. It's on him.

I wouldn't support letting Best go, either. But this season has got to raise some eyebrows. Completely unacceptable by any tangible metric.

He needs to make some big changes. We tossed our offensive coordinator last year despite having one of the best offenses in the country. I can’t even remember when we pushed a defensive guy out despite having one of worst defenses in FCS year after year. We can’t keep these defensive coaches… they are completely clueless. The offense is bad, but the defense is so bad it’s beyond all recognition.

We need to aggressively pursue some folks in the transfer portal. The cupboard is bare.

I knew this was going to be a tough this. I never thought that it'd be THIS tough. I hope these guys put in some serious work in the offseason. We also need to find a QB and fast.

We're gotten progressively worse as the season has played out. We didn't even look this bad against Oregon. I suppose all of the crazy injuries hasn't helped but we don't seem to have any sort of depth at all.

It isn't going to improve. Everything happening screams Best. What's going to happen is beyond our control but a change is needed urgently. All anyone has to do is look at last season, recall the complete failure on special teams without a meaningful adjustment, the absurd play calls on key downs, losing the OC mid season despite being a top offensive team sporting the winner of the Walter Payton at QB, having several eligible players opt out of their last year and on and on... This season was built on the dysfunction of past seasons. It didn't happen overnight and the only constant is HC..

I can't even remember a season when we were not competitive. Maybe 2003 but I don't even think we were this bad that year. We can't tackle. We're constantly out of position. We look slow which is bewildering considering the guys we've recruited the past few years. Is this just really poor coaching? I can't seem to find any answers about how we can go from a consistent playoff caliber team to this.

Look at Sac St. full of portal and transfers...every team does. Day's of EKG potential players are gone. Best Better get busy, we're already behind.

It's everything,. It's coaching...it's talent...it's leadership.

Example, we usually have 3 different receivers like Roberson...this year we have one.

We usually have a ridiculously good QB...this year we don't.

We usually have at least a handful of guys who can play defense. This year we have one.

So it's a function of a new coaching staff, a loss of critical players on both sides of the ball, and sub-par recruiting the past coupled of years or a focus on guys who looked great but just did not pan out for whatever reason. I'm with everyone else, we need to find some "second-chance" guys in the transfer portal. That said, I don't think we will. It's just not Best's thing. I'm worried that he's so resistant to looking for guys outside of the program that modern college football is passing him by.

agreed. they got beat by all three good teams in the Big Sky and will probably lose to MSU as well. they'll probably scrape their way into the playoffs and go on the road. we make everyone look like world beaters this year.

No, we don’t. I wish we did, but if those guys were so great, they’d have stepped up by now. We’ve never been afraid of playing young QBs before.

Do we even have a running back? Have we even had a guy take more than 10 carries in a game?

No. Can you name more than one or two guys on defense that would start for another Big Sky defense other than Cal Poly? This team is coached very poorly on defense, but it doesn’t change the fact we don’t have any studs.

I agree. These players all pasted the eye test when recruited and certainly are in the upper tier in the BigSky.

You have to be kidding, right? We put 11 guys on the field that can’t tackle, can’t cover, and can’t shake blocks. And it’s been that way since game one. Worse yet, we’re not tough. Can’t stress enough that this doesn’t change the fact that coaching is tragic, but you can’t point to a position where we’re not undersized, too slow, not physical enough, etc.

I see you've gone into full blown rabid Dopa mode now... It's been awhile. Can't say I missed it but understand. Let's face it, Best didn't trust anything the past couple of years and the result has been catastrophic. This is what it looks like when a narcissist fails. Don't worry, his ego is in tack though. Another LOL is our kicker. I mean seriously, after last year, how could we not have identified this as a concern? And yet here we are again, hopelessly missing short field goals. We’ve already played two kickers and neither of them can put it between the uprights.
