Damn, the Vandals are playing like teams of old. Eck has it going on in Moscow. I've watched parts of several games and Idaho looks a year away from being a power in the BigSky. Assume that's a good thing and it would be any other week.

I don't expect Eag's to play up. Their near comeback against PSU wasn't a "moral victory" against a good team, it was a sad last ditch effort that came up short. I just expect more of the same. It's a Best hallmark. Won't make a prediction. Idaho can run, their QB is a lot of fun to watch and they field a better than average defense. Idaho's coaches are watching film and laughing their asses off.

Players haven't forgotten how to play. If the coaches let them it could be a good game but coaches got to coach, so the outcome feels predetermined. It isn't. Let's hope Eag's step up. Go Eags!
 
Also remember we beat them by about 200 points last year. I’m sure they want payback. That’s also a hard statement about the direction these two programs have gone in the space of a single year.

I’d just really like to see the defense show up prepared and at least get off the field a few times to start the game. It amazes me how our defense always looks so confused at the beginning of every game. I don’t think we match up well against any offense at this point, but it’s so hopeless when the other team keeps scoring TDs on nearly every first half possession and Eastern is playing from a big deficit after the first drive.
 
If GT gets the ball out quick, and into the hands of his playmakers, Eastern should be ok. Following up on Lopa’s point on the PSU thread; the defense has got to step up and play with pride! Also, the D Coordinator had Eastern lined up in Nickel and 4-3 packages on obvious run down and distances way too many times last week. Stop the run, stop the Qb runs, and maybe Eastern can finish at a semi-respectable 5-6.

Btw, they showed AB on the sidelines multiple times last week and not once did I see him getting angry or threatening scholarships! Best is a great coach, he got em fired up after halftime last week even though they fell short. I want to see him and the Eagles dominate and FINISH in these last three games!

It was non-sensical. This feels like it has been a problem since 2011.

Idaho will show up. Even though their coaches didn't go thru the beating Eastern gave them last year, a lot of the players did.

This is the film of this game playing in my head: GT will be 60%, a third of those caught will be in bad spots, he'll throw 2 or 3 dimes, won't complete anything over 30 yards if it requires touch, there will be at least 3 WR drops and the number of swing passes will only baffle Eastern fans as Idaho runs at least 1 pick back for the TD (because they've watched film and will take a chance). Not even sure if Eag's will run the ball this week after Idaho stuffs a couple attempts early.

I know this is negative. Super tired of seeing the same mediocre outcomes and ready for a change.

Know Kylor pointed to these trophies on Twitter from the early 80's Governor Cup vs. Idaho. I was color guard in 84 at Joe Albi when Eastern won a good game. Coach Eck was tweeting about this too.

Wow. Not used to this side of you Heavy or perhaps I wasn't listening. Regardless, would love for the Eags to play spoiler with a good game. I don't even think they have to play above their ability, just show up with some pride as you mentioned.

Odds of that happening... :roll:
 
Am sure most are semi happy with this start today... the 4th down formations are F'ing weird and dysfunctional. Different OC same ole Eagles.
 
Gotta say, it is entertaining. Like the bull rush from the defensive line but Gelani just throwing it up is nuts. Too bad Eag's are out of safeties.
 
It feels like we couldn't play worse if they tried...try not trying...try anything...try to leave early...try cheating...try drinking...try anything but what you are trying to do.

I was going to say, it seems like we are not even trying at this point in the season. Can't do anything on either side of the ball.
