As much as I HATE to say it, I'll root for the Big Sky and M$%^#$A. If the Griz could upset the national champs and we dump N Iowa Sept 12, it would be sweet for the Big Sky over MVFC.

I actually have a weird feeling that the Griz have the upper hand. Yes I know it is a new coach and a new system, but that can also go to your advantage as the BISON don't have much if any film on their new offense with these players. 27-24 Grizz...honestly though if there was some way to hang a L on both of them for this one I would be all in!
Go EAGS!

That's a tough one. I'd love the Big Sky to knock off NDSU, but I would hate the inevitable chest thumping that would come as a result of a UM victory on ESPN! ...I guess UM, as the Eagles will silence them once again when we play them!

Unless I'm totally blind to the Griz having gotten a lot better this season, and I'm also totally blind to how NDSU has taken a big step back, the Bison win a game that is only marginally competitive. I'll begrundgingly root for Montana, but I'd be shocked if this still a game on the line in the 4th quarter.

Can they both lose? J/K, I'll be rooting for the Big Sky school...although, as Dopa said, I don't expect that this game will be terribly competitive in the second half.

This, but my gut tells me this could end up similar to our inaugural red turf game. A new program and some home field magic.

Of course my gut is often wrong.

That's due to it being gluten free :D

To add to this question a bit... After UM takes on NDSU, 2 other Big Sky programs are next up on NDSU's schedule ( Weber State and UND). A shut out of all 3 programs would fuel the Bison herd of hotheads more than ever.

You really think UM has a shot here? Really?

Yep, they only lost by 12 in Fargo last year. While UM is changing their O (a good thing), NDSU lost some studs on D.

A griz win is better for us and you have to root for the Big Sky in this game.

I think the Griz will play well, and wouldn't be surprised to see them win this one.

I used to be one of the folks who would pull for our BSC mates in big matchups, but every time we're in a similar situation the vitriol over on eGriz and almost unanimous cheering on of our opponent makes me want to see the Grizzlies curb stomped! That said if a sinkhole opened up and the field disappeared leaving neither team as the winner, I can't see a downside...

Just got back from my honeymoon! Now I'm stoked to kick off FCS football.

A Montana victory would be incredible for the Big Sky. I would love it if UM showed up and knocked some bison teeth out.

The Grizzlies are not going to win. Some are saying that the bison only won by 12 points in their last meeting. I watched that game and although the score was slim, NDSU controlled the entire game. Just look at the stats. The Bison outgained the Grizzlies by almost double. The loss of defensive stars, lack of a talented offensive line, a new head coach, and a completely new offesive system will leave the Grizzlies vulnerable. NDSU will drop off defensively, but make gains offensively. I don't think Montana stands a chance.

Griz have some talent and are used to winning; especially at home. Ellis Henderson almost single handedly beat us a couple years ago, Stitt's offense should be WR friendly and the change in coaching staff should make everyone more competitive through camp. If a couple of their freshman studs make the grade... The Griz have a chance of winning this game. NDSU is a known/given and looking forward to seeing how Stitt comes at them in case we should see them in the Natty. Will the Griz show more competitiveness than last year when faced with a "superior" opponent remains to be seen.

Congrats Rjones!! Stay away from that Ashley Madison web site now...you hear.

Griz have a good chance to pull out a win at home and I'll be rooting for them and taking the points.

I am hoping you can add another MVFC lost to the Big Sky when Cal Poly plays Northern Iowa September 19th.
