Head Coaching Candidate wish-list

Stugart also knows how to get blown out by UNK. Let's hire another coach with a losing record at his current school.

Yeah, I honestly don't know if he would even come to NC because facilities are better at Lindenwood and they have deeper pockets

Looked him up and he is 97-35 and only had 1 losing season in 11 years, not too bad!

Honestly, I don't care who UNC decides to bring in next. Just bring in someone that knows how to win some ball games. With everyone and their dog coming to Colorado these days, there will be someone that wants to come here.

I agree. I just wish somebody in charge would make a change real quick as the apathy around town stinks and it is bringing down the entire school

I just checked out the facilities at Lindenwood and it looks like a place you wouldn't want to leave. I was very impressed and think I would have liked to be at that school. Take the virtual tour and check it out at this site.

Good point. Those facilities really are nice. I was hoping the BH remodel would end up looking more like their gym looks. Nice campus/facilities just outside of a big city. Not sure why he would come here.

Granted, we would need to fire our HC first so it doesn't really mater. :(

While I prefer a D2 head coach who is on the rise, I would not object to a guy like Darrin Chiaverini from CU. He would certainly need to take a pay cut but if he wants a head coaching job and then possibly take the CU head coaching job if it is open later. He seems to be able to recruit, and that is what we need!

Whomever we hire needs to revamp the entire offensive line. The kids are playing hard, but there is not one single linemen that would start on any other Big Sky team. We lead the entire nation in giving up sacks. How does Wikre still have a job? We get momentum on a drive and then boom, there is a sack and we drop 10 yards back. How many times have we seen that happen over the past 3 seasons?

Can we have a countdown to the end of the season where we fire the coaching staff?
3 days and counting!

Two and Nine, now is the time. Three and Eight, he might escape.

If he stays after a 3-8 season (after all of the other losing seasons) I will be tempted to lock the entire football section of this board. :pissed:

Okay, first time writing on here.

We really need a coaching change. The Big Sky is too competitive of a conference for us to win under Collins. He has had 8 years which is a lot more than most coaches get in today's world. We have a new president so I am inclined to think he may want to see the program improve.

AD Dunn is from Houston so he "should" know what it takes to have a successful program.

Has anyone connected to the university heard any rumblings? According to the Greeley Tribune there is nothing coming out of the AD.

I think these threads will be for nothing. I think the financial mess that Norton left the school will not allow his buyout and a higher salary for a new staff. Also, there is not indication from Troy nor Mustari about a change.

Do we know his buyout? Also, are there donors who will help out the AD?

So, the money issue made me curious.

Collins has $150,000 a year until his contract runs out in 2021. So, depending on the contract the athletic department would owe him $450,000. I am assuming this is without cause. I haven't been able to find his contract and I have no interest in submitting a public information request for it so it's hard to say what's exactly in it. I'm just going off the basics of what I've seen before with other schools.

Also, I'm guessing the assistants are on a yearly contract. Even larger schools only go out 2 to 3 years at most so I doubt we would owe much if anything there.

If we can't buyout or find someone to foot the bill then I don't know what to say.

All this is so disgusting to hear. Collins should be gone by now Or we will be losing another recruiting season. It’s really sad if it’s coming down to money. Keeping Collins is just bringing down support and enthusiasm.

There is a void of leadership in our country and UNC's is no different. If the leaders at UNC had the guts to make a change, they would. Most people in leadership positions get there by kissing up to people who would promote them..a major issue (among many other issues) with this is that when they need to ACT as LEADERS, they scurry away in fear, hoping to keep those "above" them happy. It'd be nice to think that the new leadership at UNC will take action but alas, this seems like a distant pipe dream.

It's 3 months of his contract for a buyout.
