My former player on the Oregon roster seems to think most the team expects Lockie to start vs EWU

I'd rather see us face Adams. I really don't think Adams is in the mold of a Russell Wilson, and I doubt he could take the pounding of some of these Pac-12 defenses every week. Lockie looked really good in the Spring game and which has me worried considering how our defense has played in recent years.

FWIW, I've heard the rumors too but not from reliable sources. I'd chalk it up to just rumors at this point but if they're proven to be true...wow, just wow. :ohno:

I am sure that U of O boosters will assure that Vernon's profs pass him in his classes, if you know what I mean.

I've read a couple of articles which seem to suggest the same thing. The thing is, VA's not there to push Lockie, and I'm not sure any of the other QB's on that roster are in a position to do so. So it's only natural that people would expect Lockie to be the presumptive starter. Lack of competition at this point, but that will all change come fall practices - assuming VA actually graduates and sets foot on the playing field.

I'd be shocked if we face VA. It's just to early in the season and the players don't think he will come in and start over Lockie at this point. Dude has done a great job according to sources and is a team leader.

Graduation is Saturday... surely someone must know if VA is among the graduates??? Can we put this one to bed yet?

perhaps not yet...if he doesn't graduate Sat. can he take a summer course or two to get his degree(even online) and then transfer in time for fall ball?

I don't think the NCAA will allow him to be in classes with EWU and practice with Oregon.

Everyone I know in Oregon - players, family fans who live there with season tickets expect Lockie to start.

Just heard through the grapevine that VA did not pass math and will not graduate. Not a reliable source, but just know that the word is going around.

Rjones61,
I heard this quite sometime ago. I have said many of times, "he made his bed, now let him sleep in it". I saw on TV a few days ago, where some individual are selling Graduation Certificates for Universities, cost between $200.00 - $500.00. He was even interview on TV, and he did admit he was doing so. According to the interview, there is nothing illegal about it. These Certificates are from Harvard, and all other Universities. One reported on KXLY Rosses, Good Morning America, last name Rossen did the investigation. Rossen even got his 6 year old son a Graduation Certificate. Talk about Dishonesty. I am not suggesting anything to VA :? Have a great weekend. Vic Wallace

To all,
There is another Roster Dated May 27th, with approximately 92 Players on it, which includes the incoming Recruits. No pictures are available of the Recruits, with the exception of Keenan Williams, Cheney High. Some of the Players from last Scrimmage are no longer on the Roster. 9 Players to be exact. Four are K/P, all new individuals, 1 OL, l LB, l WR, l DL Once school starts in September, they can all come back to practice, if invited by Coach. Vic Wallace

Being the first from your family to earn a degree is something to be proud of. Congrats Vern.

Looks like the rumors weren't too far off. Vernon still needs to pass two more math classes to graduate.

Odd. There were no academic issues when he played for EWU. Right?

Yes. We do a good job making our student athletes study and prepare for classwork.
Would there be a minimum level GPA to be accepted at Oregon, or do they take all that apply?
