Houston Baptist vs UNC

Perhaps we were looking past this opponent

I sure hope so. Northern Iowa is starting with 2 FBS teams and...be prepared to be shocked...scheduled us as their homecoming game. I can't remember anyone ever having their first home game as a homecoming game.

After UNLV I was cautiously optimistic. Now, I am not sure what to think.

It sounds like this one came down to play calling. We have the tools to be competitive, except for a head coach. Maybe the defensive coach should be the head coach, he seems to have the ability to teach a group what it means to take pride in your craft and do it as a cohesive unit. Crappy teams with good coaches can still steal a few games, great players with crappy coaches usually do not amount to much as a team. The coach's record speaks for itself, it's nothing personal, he just isn't very good. And as long as he is at the helm, this team will not be very good, and it is a shame that not many can see the forest through the trees. Another losing season is in progress and will continue to be until we can get a coach that is a true leader and can get the best out of decent players, this guy does not possess that ability. To truly restore the roar, you must first put the right people in place to achieve that goal. #GoBears #RestoreTheRoar (I have no idea why I am adding hashtags to my post. It just seems to be the right thing to do.) #BringOnBasketballSeason

Northern Iowa is hitting their local Wal Mart and buying them out of anal lube as we speak...

That's the scouting report...

You gotta start somewhere. A win is a win. Better an ugly win than an ugly loss. Surprised that the Bears didn't totally dominate the HBU. But again, better a win than a loss.

CSU-Pueblo beat the 15th FCS ranked Sam Houston State Bearkats in Huntsville tonight, 47 to 21. T-Wolves dominated the Bearkats allowing 1 rushing yard in the first half, and went into the locker room leading 27 to 0. CSUP played the gracious guest and gave Sam 2 touchdowns late in the 4th quarter (emptied the bench). T-Wolves looking to make noise in the playoffs this year.

Good luck to the Bears going forward . . .

I wasn't able to watch it, wasn't on bigskytv for some reason (thanks bigskytv douches). But it didn't sound too good over the radio. A team playing their first full D1 schedule in their history. They were really young, sounded like a lot freshman were playing. But this is a similar trend with Collins and Co struggling against lower division teams. Lost to Lindenwood and CSU-P. Didn't look good against Mesa, Langston, and now Houston Baptist.

We're going to have to play much, much better than this for us to beat UNI. The Panthers almost beat Hawaii last night(this morning).
