I Want UNC To Lose!

I am always sympathetic toward al the teams in the Big Sky even ISU of whom I am supposed to hate. I really need you guys to lose to NAU not just to help WSU if we in out but because if we all win out it would really suck knowing you guys didn't host because of a half court miracle. I don't want the tourney in Missoula very badley either.

If you guys lose one game then that scenario wouldn't take place. If yall can't host would you want it in Ogden or Miss?
But their way it won't compare to watching NAU walk off the court in the 2007 championship game. They lost the title game in back to back year's. It was really sad to see Ruben Boykin walking off the court crying to end his senior yr.

If we can't host I don't know where I would want it. Not in Colorado because UNC is the team I want to face the least. Not in Missoula because that would give them an edge if Cherry never recovers.

You are pretty much out of luck. You had your home shot last season, I really hope we get a shot at it and my God, will someone please beat Montana!

Three road wins tonight in the Big Sky Conference. Quite the rare occasion.

I can't attend the final this season (have been to 3 in my life...2 in Flagstaff and 1 in Portland) but don't think I really have a preference. It's obviously hard to win on the road in this conference but that seems to be thrown out the door come conference tourney finals time. I don't know if home court is really that big of a deal at this point of the year. Whoever gets "hot" and healthy at the right time has the momentum. Okay, I'll admit I don't want Montana to host this year. There...I said it. Griz have been there recently and I want someone else representing the Big Sky this go round.

PSU damn near pulled it off tonight. EWU could on Saturday. The Griz are decent on the road but not as good as at home. WSU and N. Colorado still have a shot at hosting.

Here's hoping you guys get blown out of the water Saturday night. Montana too.......

When you cant get more than 2,000 fans to a game ya really don't deserve to host.

I agree. It takes a lot for me to vehemently root against other Big Sky teams. Rivalries are fun but I've never understood nor liked the blood-boiling hatred of some rivalries. The constant ASU-UofA shiz-talk here in the desert is tired and mundane.

Stirring the pot here as well, eh? Many of the WSU fans bring goodwill to others along with their devotion to the Wildcats. Try it some time...kind of refreshing.

I work hard not to get riled up over sports and remind myself it's just a game. But....that year's conference final hurt. The six hour total road trip and work the next morning at 7:30 not being taken into account, either. Boykin, Golob, Sir and Bazy were all seniors. A young Landry and Wilson beginning good careers. A rare loud crowd at the Skydome. And Virgil Mathews has the game of his career as well as a young Jordan Hasquet stepping up. One of my buddies who worked restaurant and bar jobs around town said Ruben Boykin was the nicest athlete he ever met in Flagstaff. Ruben Boykin goes down as my all-time favorite Lumberjacks hoops player. That picture of him walking off the court crying is one of a multitude of reasons I'll take small school college sports every day of the week over pro sports or big-name collegiate sports. No Mickey D's all-Americans, no impending lottery pick/shoe contract deals, no 24 hour hand-jobs from ESPN...more often than not just passion for a sport away from the bright lights.

Awww, now I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Rooting for my Jacks on Saturday. Doubtful they'll pull it off but who knows.

that was a hard photo to look at and not just feel really bad for him. i always hate to see our seniors walk off the court for the last time.

Wow, that was a very "Montana" thing to say. The team with the best conference record deserves to host the tournament not the team with the biggest attendance. It's about rewarding success on the court, I would think that a long time BIg Sky team would know that.

Geez, I was beginning to think I was on the wrong board !! Whats up with you two from Weber & NAU, Get kicked off your own boards?? LOL. And speaking of getting kicked off the boards, just wait until sat. night when the BEARS and their 2000 fans kick NAU's ass and Weber & Montana lose !! Will be waiting for your reply, my friends.

Oops. Uh, sorry for the "hijack".

And no, I expect a hard fought game to go down to the final minutes. No blowout in Greeley on Saturday. Weber State, I think, will win. UM has a chance to lose but it will take a near perfect game by EWU now that Cherry is back in full swing.

Look forward to following along on the internet Saturday.
