The 2014-15 bastketball roster is on the UNC wed site and I noticed freshman Spencer Mathis was listed but Ibrahim Sylla was not,does anyone no why?

Not 100% sure of this, but I think that he entered UNC under a program that allows him to be eligible in the 2015-2016 season. Again , not 100% sure but I think that's the arrangement. He'll benefit from the year of physical growth and ability to adjust to college life.
He's a winner and this is a great situation for him to develop.

He falls under the NCAA's partial qualifier rule, meaning that he will be on campus this coming year, but cannot participate in any activities with the team. He can utilize the academic resources.

I believe in football they call that "gray" shirting... But am not sure if they have a name for it in basketball.
