Sorry, but our offensive coordinator needs to go. Horrible job once again with the creativity on offense. He is effectively completely wasting the athletic talent of our QB.

Horrible job by the OC again!!! So disappointing.
 
It’s a shame that the University of Idaho wasted these kids time this afternoon.

You seriously don’t have an adult in the state with an attention span long enough to watch a field goal?

That last first down was just being a homer, but there is no excuse for not watching the field goal.

I dunno. Seemed every receiver had stone hands that whole game. Constant drops. Every throw was a fifty fifty catch in accordance to our guys being able to just hold onto it. That isnt on the offensive coordinator.
 
I’m very disturbed by the officiating that ultimately determined the outcome of this game. Yes, Eastern could have been more efficient on offense, drops, overthrows, etc., but when officials call a PI in the end zone in the 2nd qtr on 3rd down, ( which we and the announcers knew it wasn’t), and results in an Idaho TD. Then the refs miss a FG that was good by EWU cause the ref was too busy adjusting his mask and missed it, and shitty replay couldn’t confirm it, just a disaster. Then, after that, they call defensive PI on Tre Weed, when the IDAHO WR clearly pushed off before the pass, as per announcers and replay, then to give Idaho a 1st down when they were 1 yard short was a disaster, with No Replay AFTER an EWU timeout, WTF! I just don’t understand the BSC officiating crew, they will have to answer to come Monday. After been watching football for 50 years, but felt EWU got homered in this game!
Thoughts???? And I want to hear them!!!!!!!!

I'm pissed. I totally agree. Refs gave Idaho that game.

I am wondering if the Refs were drinking before the game, because those calls were horrendous.

Yeah, I really hate how this looks that I keep bringing this up. Shitty reffing happens, and teams should win by enough that refs don't make a difference.

But this game... this game was the worst I have every seen. It's absolutely inexcusable. If you're unsure, don't throw the flag!

- EWU defense forces QB to run out of bound for 4th and ten. Defender touched the guy as he was running out, but he was still in bounds. Ref calls personal foul for hitting guy out of bounds.
- Idaho Qb throws ball ten feet above receivers head to the out of bounds. EWU guy gets called for pass interference.
- EWU guy reaches for ball, bobbles it, gets hit, drops it. Called a fumble, recovered by the other team.
- EWU defender is running with Vandal receiver. Vandal Receiver reaches out, grabs the guys facemask and shoves the EWU guy away. Pass interference on EWU.
- Fieldgoal call
-Refs gift Vandals an extra yard so that they can get a first down.

Absolutely inexcusable!

Sharp is one of the best and most respected analysts around and he's talking about this...and this changed the game..period.
 
Just an absolute hose job, point shaving scheme by the officials, this one will go down in infamy.. I’m not happy, as you can tell. Just refer to the missed and no calls from Eagles own the sky in post above. Enough said!
I’d be surprised if this crew officiated a game again this year.
 
What a frustrating game. I was not able to pay attention as much as I normally could because of a family event. I had no idea about the FG until this morning when I saw it on YAHOO as one of their headlines....UNREAL.
I work many TV events and it baffles me that the ball for the FG was not tracked at all by at least one camera. WHAT A SHAME!

The Eagles had plenty of opportunities to score enough to stay ahead of the Vandals and didn't complete drives. When a receiver drops a ball on 3rd down that is the same as a turnover. We have too many DB's playing receiver positions.
I too wonder about play calling but have not been through the entire off season to know what we have to work with. In the past we have had better than average tight ends which we didn't use IMO to keep linebackers at home.
Idaho won and deserved it now move on and get better.
The question should be who mounts a video board within the field of play?? Only in Idaho!!

Exactly my point, we lost it many other ways.
 
Not sure anyone has said that botched fg call was the reason we lost...or any one call for that matter(allthough any one play can change a game). I had said it changed the game. It did change the dynamics of the game. Idaho may have done things different, we would have done things different and the scoreboard would have differently been different. Doesn't mean we would have won or lost but different for sure.
 
Is it me or has the recruitng fallen off each year with Best? Or is the declining quality of the coaching staff?

3-4 years ago this game isn't close

I can't tell. Something is definitely going wrong at the coaching level, though. Either positionally or at the head.

Lots of these guys seem like they can stack up athletically at this level, but their development just seems.... off.

True, their QB was wild the first qtr. In addition to the pick 6 he overthrew open receivers numerous times. If he would have connected even on a portion of those throws it would have been really ugly the first half score

That’s how it looks to me! The WRs looked awful, and the defensive backs looked completely mediocre.

This game was difficult to watch fellas, and that Eastern offensive play calling was cringeworthy. Eti Ena wet the bed here, he had Eastern looking terrible against A HORRIBLE IDAHO TEAM! That Idaho QB was one of the worst I’ve seen recently, and they beat a ranked Eastern team.

I agree with the above post, with the exception of EB3, the team doesn’t look very talented. It’s time to FIX IT BEST... and put a damn mask on!! GoEags!
 
While we’re on the topic of recruiting, Talolo Limu-Jones and a few other WRs looked pretty bad. It pains me to say it but, these guys are NOT on the same level as Cooper Kupp, Shaq Hill, & Kendrick Bourne. Even guys like Greg Herd & Brandon Kaufman were lethal over the middle, and on deep passes. Not calling out/placing the loss on one guy, but this group has to step their game up!
