Injury Bug

My guess is the below guys will be questionable in a couple of weeks:

Wilson - Ribs
C. Kupp - Shoulder
Njoku - Knee
Sommer - Knee
Meyer - Concussion
Calhoun - Hamstring
Dyer - ?
Hunter - ?

The below guys are out of the season as far as I know.

Karstetter - Achilles
Webster - Collarbone
Jones - Knee
Foerstel - Knee
Baumann - Foot
It would seem that even if guys that have not played for several weeks become ready to play before the playoffs they are not really in "game shape" so how effective could they be?

I'd think that conditioning would be less a factor than getting back to "game speed", not having played for a while.

I left Zamora off this list originally.

Zamora
Wilson - Ribs
C. Kupp - Shoulder
Njoku - Knee
Sommer - Knee
Meyer - Concussion
Calhoun - Hamstring
Dyer - ?
Hunter - ?

I'd assume Zamora is fine. He tried to play versus PSU but couldn't go, but he was suited up. Given two weeks, you'd think he'd be fine. Meyer was out with a concussion; unless it's a very serious one, you'd think 2 more weeks is plenty to recover.

The rest of the guys are a mystery.

Four seniors could make a difference:
Wilson - Ribs
C. Kupp - Shoulder
Njoku - Knee
Sommer - Knee
Agreed, if you noticed I said "have not played forseveral weeks". Wilson and Kupp WOULD make a difference.

"several" is not a specific number just greater than 1.. wasn't disagreeing given the list, the one's I identified were those that would be impactful IMO. glad we could concur on those.

are there any updates on any of these guys? I am assuming Coop will miss the UCA game at a minimum?

We won't hear anything about any of these guys prior to the game, especially Kupp's status.

Coach B already said he expects Kupp to play. Told that to media at selection party a week ago.

Take that however you will.

I haven't heard anything regarding Coop other than it's the same injury, but opposite shoulder. I keep hoping we will see Simba suited up and ready to go. Feel like he's been out the entire season. Either way, I feel like we're good no matter what.

If it's the same interview we heard, Coach B said he "thought" Kupp would be ok by the playoffs. Nothing definitive. With that said, I would be surprised if he did not play.

Coach Baldwin is always non-commital when asked about injuries, but judging from the selection show interview it sounded to me like he was saying Coop would play without outright saying it.

Cooper Kupp is one tough SOB. I think part of what makes him attractive to NFL scouts is his ability to work through these kind of injuries. I'd be shocked if he doesn't play.

That sais, if he's good to go but not 100%, it might be a situation where he only see limited action. But even that I'd guess is unlikely; I suspect he'll go for as long as he is needed.

Smart money would be to have Cooper sit out at least one more week, there are a lot tougher games coming in which the Eagles will need to be @ full strength. Our other sticky hands receivers can handle this one. I would like to see him in the game as decoy. He would be very effective to pull double coverage his way and free up someone else.

I disagree. Smart money says this the PLAYOFFS, he'll be playing against Central Arkansas until he's no longer needed. :twocents:

Beau stated in todays Facebook Live interview prior to practice that we will see how things go throughout the week and it will be a game time decision that only Coop knows the answer to.

Any word on Kupp or the LB crew?

These are the players on the roster listed as LB's. I would add Kreifels as he played LB in HS. Definitely need the RSFreshman to step up if Zamora and Alek can't go. Like Davis's HS tape, not familiar with the rest. Kindle was a RB.
4 Miquiyah Zamora LB 6-1 230 R-Sr. 3L Pasco, Wash. / Chiawana HS '12
21 Ashanti Kindle LB 5-11 200 R-So. 1L Puyallup, Wash. / Emerald Ridge HS '14
35 Alek Kacmarcik LB 6-1 225 R-So. 1L Woodinville, Wash. / Woodinville HS '14
40 Ketner Kupp LB 6-0 225 So. 1L Yakima, Wash. / Davis HS '15
41 Trevor Davis Jr. LB 6-1 210 R-Fr. HS Tumwater, Wash. / Tumwater HS '15
47 Roy Hyatt LB 6-2 200 R-Fr. HS Mead, Wash. / Mt. Spokane HS '15
53 Conor McKenna LB 6-1 190 Fr. HS Spokane, Wash. / Gonzaga Prep HS '16
58 Andrew Katzenberger LB 6-1 225 R-Fr. HS Lynnwood, Wash. / Lynnwood HS '15
59 Kurt Calhoun LB 6-2 225 R-So. 1L Zillah, Wash. / Zillah HS '14

You're correct. Kreifels played at LB during the PSU game as well. He's a defensive utility man.
