Started going to PSU in '98, graduated in '06. As a student I worked for the V-Team (student intern in the athletic department), did in-game music and sound effects for volleyball and basketball (hence the nickname), and I co-created The Horde, which is the Student Fan Group. I'm a season ticket holder in football and basketball, and I've been following the Vikings since 2000.

We need a jumbotron at PGE park (in the works) a new basketball arena (in the planning stages) and we need a move to the WAC (in due time)

Go Viks!!

i was on the v-team in 03 through 04

Hi,

I went to San Francisco State Univ for my undergrad, and NYU for grad school.

I moved to Portland recently and took a photography class at PSU in 2005. That got me interested in taking sports photos

Originally from Boise State Bronco Country but have been living in Portland since August on 99 and have been a Viking Fan since 02 my freshmen yr at PSU. Also a Co-Creator of the Horde and work with DJ Viking on V-Team. I'm a big fan of BSU cause I grew up going to games from the time i was 4 and watched BSU go from Big Sky, Big West to WAC but I share as much and actually more pride in PSU athletics becuase its the college I chose to attend.

So glad to hear this. One of my pet peeves is people being less supportive of schools they went to than they are of other schools. I have no problem with following other schools, as long as people are at least as interested in their own alma mater. Half of PSU's problem is all the kids walking around campus wearing UO and OSU gear (although thankfully this is less of a problem now than it used to be).

I went to East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and I never really supported ECU! Personally, the schools I love is Wyoming and Hawaii.

Well I currently attend Clackamas Community College and am wrestling for them this year but will x-fer to PSU to possibly join their squad next year. I obviously am a big fan of football and especially the lineman since I used to be one. I have several friends who play for the team and will likely be at every home game this season. Lookin' forward to the 'JG Experience'

Oh that would be awesome!!!!

I'm going to start working on that I think. Too bad Its only three days until the basketball game. More time and we could hand them out to people at the game.
'
Here's another idea. "What about a WWJD - What Would Jerry Do?" t-shirt theme? Might offend a few people, but I think it would be hilarious.

I'm from Madison, WI, home of the badgers. I moved to Portland to attend PSU in the fall of '05 after a year doing volunteer work all over the southeastern united states.

Born and raised in Texas, now living in Florida with my wife and two daughters. Previously a Bama fan (wife and father in law graduated UA), now a CSU fan (son plays there)

That's two votes. DJVikings - how do we get this going?

I'm a christian guy, some people may take offense to it but I don't think there is a verse in the bible that says you can't use the intials WWJD for anything else

but what do I know

any other ideas?

I'm a christian as well and I think that might be stretching it a little but I'm sure the city of Portland wouldn't care. If my pastor saw that he would probably spout off on a rant ending in the phrase "you're foolish
icon_evil.gif
and are only buying yourself a one way ticket to hell
icon_twisted.gif
with that nonsense." He's a character but not for everyone.

What about something like "WELCOME TO THE MOUSE
icon_king.png
AND JERRY /users/31/07/37/smiles/cowboy.gif SHOW" on the front and on back "CAUTION--MAY INCLUDE EXTREME ACTION /users/31/07/37/smiles/smily33.gif OR EVEN VIOLENCE /users/31/07/37/smiles/smily36.gif AND PROFANITY /users/31/07/37/smiles/smileyfo.gif --VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED" I like it. The smileys wouldn't be included. I just like to be creative. Any comments or further suggestions about this theme?

I'm not sure how much I like the WWJD idea. I think its kinda funny, but if we're going to do some shirts I think we should come up with a unique idea. WWJD might also be trademarked, since I've seen it on bumper stickers, wrist bands, etc.

I think we need to put something on it regarding being the hardest hitting team. Or quoting Jerry about smacking you in the mouth.

Do we want to try and get this stuff done on the next batch of The Horde t-shirts, or do we want to print our own? I ask because the cost of printing 20 or so shirts will be like $30-$40 per shirt, whereas the cost of printing 200-300 shirts ends up at like $5-$10 a shirt.

DJ,

I like the part about the Glanville quote...

How about something like "House of Pain" or "Gritz Blitz" on the front, and a Glanville quote on the back?

I like the quote idea better, too. Makes it more of a We've Got Glanville statement.

The Horde.
"We Will Knock You Down"

Pretty much says it right there....

Hey guys. First time poster. I've been lurking for a spell. I've been on the OregonLive forum (laxDuk) for some time but I think I've had enough. Long time Vik fan, though I didn't go to school there. I did grow up in Oregon however and can recall the Mouse days of old. Hopefully you'll allow a Cali Vik fan on the site!

Looking forward to this year! Great site!
