Is Northern Colorado WSU’s biggest rival?

I thought you Bears fans might enjoy reading this blog entry from Ogden's local paper, the Standard Examiner. The blog's author is Matt Gerrish.

Here's a portion of the blog:

"I know, WSU likes to call Idaho State or Montana its rivals in respective sports, but Northern Colorado in its short Big Sky history has already made a case that it deserves the Wildcats’ biggest rival label. The series win/loss records are a bit lopsided in WSU’s favor, but it’s just a matter of time before that gap closes and the Bears start winning their fair share of these doozies."

I'll contribute this to the discussion: UNC had a live blog for signing day on Wednesday, at one point there was a poll asking which 2011 home football game fans were most looking forward to and Weber won handily. Granted, UNC goes to both EWU or Montana next year, but I thought a more marquee football school like Montana State or a more winnable game like PSU or North Dakota would win that poll. I think it says something that Bear fans are looking forward to Weber coming to Nottingham this fall.

It would be cool to see a traveling trophy going back and forth. However, we keep finding ways to lose to Weber. Until we win a few, it can't be called a rivalry.
