Is this disrespectful?

Ole' Didn't Stay V.A. proceeded to call his former teammate a number of profane names and went on to text him that when he gets to Oregon he's going to make sure that his new teammates take out the knees of his former teammate.
I know he is young but IF TRUE WOW :ohno:    that is not cool at all! I know he is probably feeling the weight of his world on him but that is not ok at all. Talk about an ugly divorce.
Well, have have I ever blown smoke up anyone's arse since I've been on this forum? It's 100% true.

Fact is he's a former Eagle trying to become a Duck.

He's an opponent just like any player from Montana or MSU. Think they would be welcomed with open arms.

Now, it would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if he wasn't transferring to a team that EWU has on their fall schedule.

Hope it works out for him in the long run. But the kid (he's just a kid) needs to think things through.

I don't think they should have taken down his stuff. He earned those things. At the same time, I can't imagine that he would have thought all of this was going to go down well, and wearing Oregon shit around campus isn't exactly helping his cause. I can understand the transfer - just wish he wasn't being such a premadonna about the whole thing. My guess is that's where the majority of the resentment is coming from.

I also don't think he should have gone to the media with that kind of stuff. Kinda low brow.

You probably need to understand that taking down a guys locker when he quits the team is a tradition at Eastern. White athletic tape is put over it and his former teammates then can write well wishes, etc., on it. So, in other words, no different than any other guy who quits.

In this instance, poor old Vern got "butt hurt" about it. Apparently, he thought the same send-off wouldn't apply to him. Accordingly, he texted the "taker downer" and asked if he was the one who did it (neatly, and without damaging anything, BTW). The former teammate replied with a one word "Yep". Ole' Didn't Stay V.A. proceeded to call his former teammate a number of profane names and went on to text him that when he gets to Oregon he's going to make sure that his new teammates take out the knees of his former teammate.

I was looking forward to seeing him succeed. Now, I'm not so sure. He's showing a different side that I'm not liking too much...

To play devil's advocate, the argument here is going to be that it's doubtful if guys like Jones and Kaufman got the same treatment when they left a year early. People are going to ask what the difference is. Not saying I agree or disagree with it.

Unfortunate how all of this has played out, but I can't say that I didn't see it coming after it was reported that he had been wearing Oregon stuff around campus. Although unfortunate, it's not surprising that he's being boo'd at basketball games or that former teammates are taking issue with him. Doubt the "taking out the knees" stuff was any kind of serious talk. Probably not something to joke about either but I am sure he is feeling a little ostracized right now and sometimes people say things they don't mean when they're upset.

Calmer heads will prevail when all is said and done.

If he doesn't graduate how does that look bad on the University?
It's on him not the school . . .besides he had a extra year in terms of scholarship sitting out there for him to finish....totally on him. :coffee:

Based on Jim's article today, the rumors circulating were true. VA changed his major so that he could graduate on time. Talk about exploiting the grad transfer rule a little bit.....

Ridiculous. I wonder if he wore a ski mask to pick up his scholarship check because that was highway robbery. The sooner this guy moves on, the better. I'm glad they booed him at the basketball game.

When I reflect on Cheney and EWU players and fans, one word comes to mind - classy. Now I am confused. The once classy VA, according to EWU fans, now seems to be classless in the opinion of many of the same classy EWU fans. Very confusing.

There is a lot more to this than what most people are aware of. Personal issues which may have factored into his decision. Jim's article eludes to some of it.

At least you don't have to be confused about the azz kicking you got this year! It was pretty simple to understand!

Now he'll really be confused... Are you referring to Ass Kicking #1 or Ass Kicking #2?

Dozy,
Went to campus yesterday, it is almost like an empty University. Students are getting ready for Finals Exam. While waiting to enter Washing Street from Lot 9, I noticed a young man waiting to cross into lot 9. It was your son, I couldn't recognize him with the new hair cut. He stopped hug both my daughter, and myself, stated he was going to Phoenix for a job interview. He said now that Football is over, he must find a job :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . As usual, he stated "Vic I am going to miss you and Chrissy, along with my family :( :( :( :( . I remembered when he got here from High School, he used to make other Players mad at him, they became really respectable of Dylan. I remembered how that long Blonde Hair was cut the next day, you know how they fix up Recruits ;) ;) ;) ;) ;), I started to laugh at his and every Recruits new hair do, he came over to me and said "Vic this haircut isn't all, they threw me in the Showers also. We are going to miss him and all our Players. See you and the West Side Crew next month, "Killin Dinner Dance? Vic Wallace

Dozy,
Did Dylan made his trip to Arizona? Did he get the job? I know the students are home, it is sad not seeing all the vehicles at the Trailer (Mansion) where the Players live on the access road. We went out there a couple of days, it is like a morgue, very little going on. The Professors, Coaches are busy getting ready for this Season kick off. Roster is not poster as yet. Hope we see the crew from West Side on April 25th, and here is hoping we get some new personnel to attend. Lots of fun.   :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Take care. Vic Wallace
