ISU Must Win Game!

I was trying to think of a player from Utah that Rahe recruited that had a significant career at Weber. Panos, I don't think was recruited by Rahe, and I know Mahoney wasn't. Can't think of any others.

From what I heard Weber never made contact with Champman, but then again the reason could have been that they didn't think he was tough enough and also, Weber had a lock on a solid big named Zach Braxton. Chapman has made significant progress because of LK. Remember he is one of the top bigmen to come from the Big Sky. He knows how to develop a bigman. I don't see anyone on our current staff who could help our bigmen anywhere near what LK can.
I'm not sure that talent is the issue. We attract talent and I'm confident that we have the right players to succeed. Everything that I've heard about Zach is that he's going to have a tremendous future at Weber. I just am not confident that we know how to utilize our talent. its going to be a long offseason.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I think Zach will end up having the better career. I'm more than happy to have Zach on our roster.

Mahoney was signed before his mission by Cravens. Rahe gave him a shot and really ended up liking Mahoney. Panos was a Rahe recruit. He signed him the spring after he was hired. Also, Brody Van Brocklin was a Rahe recruit. Other than that...the Cats don't have a lot of Utah recruit. Mike Brown was a major recruit, but ended up leaving after 1 season. Van Pelt is the only other Utahan to have earned a scholarship and now Riley Court. In coaches defense, there hasn't been a lot of DI talent available. Most of the best DI players end up going to one of the other Big 3 schools. Weber recruited Haws, Loveridge, Collette, and Mika and they all liked Weber but ended up at other schools. Weber rarely gets a top Utah recruit. I still think the Cats should be recruiting Utah hard though. Like Collette, Skyler Halford decided to try his luck getting on at USU as a walkon and turned down an offer from Weber.

Instead of being in the running for FOY. Ian Fox just tweeted this out yesterday:

"I received my release from Idaho State. Spread the word to inform the schools that are interested."

I bet his phone is ringing off of the hook.
Word spread and Ian is transferring to Long Beach City College.

Oh good! He finally made the PAC12, where he can become an All American and hit the NBA by his sophomore year! Boy, is ISU ever going to be sorry.

I wonder if it hurts his ego that his girlfriend is in Long Beach playing for a D1 program while he is down the street at the community college. RUHS is going to be tearing up the Long Beach City College fan forums predicting a State championship and Ian MVP honors. Lucky them!

Truthfully, I hope that Ian does find success. Both in basketball and in life. None of this is easy for him or his family.

Good luck Ian!
