Hammerhead Dad said:Jason Smith did NOT have surgery on his ankle. He did have minor surgery, but it had nothing to do with his ankle. I'm not going to say what the surgery was because its private information, but I can assure you it was not ankle surgery. He will likely be ready for the Montana game. Don't forget we have a bye after this week at NAU so he has a couple of weeks to heal up.
Per the Sacramento Bee (which is not how I found out about it):

Sacramento State sophomore quarterback Jason Smith will miss Saturday's game at Northern Arizona after undergoing minor surgery on Monday, Hornets coach Marshall Sperbeck said Tuesday.
The outpatient procedure was not related to the high ankle sprain that kept Smith out of two games before he returned to throw for 307 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-31 victory over Portland State last Saturday.

Well... Minor surgery or surgery... Which ever you would like to choose is up to you. But like I said in the beginning; Jason Smith underwent surgery (be it major or minor it doesn't matter) on his ankle and the earliest he could return is in three weeks for the Montana game.
I could have sworn I said that in my first post.
Now I apologize if it wasn't his ankle, but I'm told directly from sources from the team that it was. I do not see why they would lie about it, but for the benefit of the doubt, I'll say they could be wrong. However, this is not the issue. My sole purpose for telling you guys this was to keep you updated and to let you know that Jason won't be playing this week.
