The Bear Insider (Cal site) is reporting that Juan Anderson, the F transferring from Marquette is currently looking at Cal, Oregon, and Weber State as his next destination. Cal is reporting that they do have 1 scholarship left, with 15 players on their roster, and Oregon has none available. Weber does have a scholarship available for the Castro Valley star.

It would be nice to get another transfer...keep the Bay Area pipeline open.

Here is your link CATCAT=STAIN. lol

Looking at both Oregon and Cal, from what I can see they don't have room. Especially Oregon. They have 7 commitments and Cal has 5. They mentioned on there that USF would be a possilbe place for Juan. Who knows. I wish there was more information. I would like to think we have a great chance of getting Juan. At Oregon and Cal it would be tough for him to get minutes, but most likely he would start here as a JR after his redshirt year. I posted this before, but if we were to land Juan my predicted starting lineup for 2014 would be this
Senglin, Wheelwright, Anderson, Hill and Bolomboy. HOLY SNIEKEESSS!!!!!!! That would be a dangerous group. Add in Gittens, Williams, Fuller and Hajay and thats a very deep and talented team. Come on Juan!!!!! We need you.

The coaches have been very quiet this spring about recruiting. Yes, they are normally, but not this quiet. Getting Juan could be the steal of the decade. He would be a natural to replace Berry at the 3, and has the ability to play the 2 and 4 if needed. He is that athletic. He doesn't have the best %'s from 3, but then again, he wasn't focusing on those. He was primarily a PF for Marquette. I know we shouldn't get our hopes up to much, but if it is playing time he is looking for, Weber would be his best bet. Especially since Berry will be a SR the year he is sitting out and he would be the automatic starter for the Cats once Berry is gone. Bad thing...Williams time as a SR will be drastically cut, because I have a feeling Hill might back up Juan if he isn't starting at the 4.

There is some chatter about Juan's intended destination on a Marquette board. I guess Arizona State is now in the mix. Looks like 2010 all over again. His finalists in 2010 were: Marquette (where he ended up), Cal, Oregon, and Arizona State. Now they are Weber State, Cal, Oregon, and Arizona State (according to his twitter account).

I think this is it.

Some other dude on his twitter suggested Oregon based on the many different uniforms he could wear. Catcat will you send him a tweet of why Weber would be best...based on our three uniforms, I guess four, if we ever sport the black away jerseys again.

grey and white: Home

purple and black: Away

Oh someone send him a vid of our crowd against ECU. LOL...better than anything the PAC-12 had this season.

ya good idea. lets all go talk to a prospect. dont get ur panties in a bunch when i ask for a source i mean i am a big fan of people starting rumors but its more fun to see a source. what can you tell us about juan? i havent heard of him til this thread.

Notice the person on the Marquette board spelled Lillards name wrong. Catcat, was that you again posting incognito.

Just a thought. Is this guy going to be a cry baby whiner if he doesn't get what he wants. We have pieced together some good chemistry as of late and it would be sad to have it messed up. I am all about getting talent in here but they have to fit the system we have in place. Just ask Franklin Sessions and Shai Fields.

From everything I have heard, Juan is exactly the kind of person and player who would be very successful at Weber State and playing for Randy Rahe. He is a down to earth guy who just needs the right situation to flourish, much like Frank Otis. He is a high level athlete and would be an immediate star for Weber State and the BSC. He is right for us and we are right for him. I really believe that. Will he decide to come to WSU? I don't know, but I hope he does. :twocents:

No news as of right now. Anyone know if a recruit visited over the weekend? The Spring Signing Period ends May 21st.

I know this is conjecture on my part, but was Zaid counseled out? Weber needed a scholarship.

I think that it became obvious that Duce wasn't going to get much PT next year. The coaches sit down with each player, at the end of the season, evaluate their progress, and discuss what their role might look like in the coming year. Players don't like surprises and neither do coaches. I am sure that the decision was mutual.

Sometimes, as in the case with Mike Brown, the coaches want the player back, but the player wants to go elsewhere. Sometimes it's the other way around. Wayne and Duce were not going to play next year and they had two years of eligibility left. We all move on.

I think that we will be getting some sort of an announcement later in the week. :coffee:

We are famous!! LOL

Catcat is a total wanking sod.

I checked, and the deadline to sign in the spring is May 15th. So I guess Juan needs to make up his mind by tomorrow. Im not sure how that works, but if a player doens't sign by the 15th, Im assuming he has to wait until the fall signing period which is in November I believe. I hope Juan comes to Weber State. I believe it would be a much better situation for him compared to Cal, Oregon and ASU. Im just a baised fan, so what do I know? ha ha. 5 and a half months. UGGHH. I wish I had one of those remotes from the movie Click. I would totally fast forward to the start of the season.

Well...then we should be hearing something tomorrow then. :?

Those signing periods apply only to the NLI. Outside of NLI signing periods, a grant-in-aid (aka scholarship) can be signed. That document without the NLI is binding on the school but not the student-athlete. FWIW, 4-4 transfers cannot sign NLIs.
