Kennesaw St @Weber

Man had to sweat that out more than expected. They played a perfect 1st half, which is easier to do when you only have 3 possessions. Seemed a bit rusty in the first half but got the win regardless. Phew.

Crowd was smaller than expected but vocal...student section was loud. If travel weather is decent next weekend probably be as many Griz fans at the game as locals...come on O-town, get out & support this Wildcat team, it's the playoffs!!!

Radio postgame, coach seemed to feel KS was underrated & tougher than most fans give them credit for. Also said he wants the stadium packed next game whether it's Fri night or Sat afternoon (ESPN controls schedule & which game is nationally televised.)

Wildcat nation isn't all of a sudden going to change the way they've been for decades. Griz nation will show up in force and most likely be the loudest fans in Stewart stadium. Speaking of the Griz, d-bag Hauck pours it on again (73 pts vs SE Louisiana. There's no need to run it up, especially in the playoffs. I hope karma takes a huge bite of his ass, the sooner the better. Got no respect for that.

KS was every bit as good as I thought they were. I thought their strengths might trump Weber's, and probably did. If they don't gift Weber the TD off the bad pitch in the 3rd, they probably win. Regardless, a W is a W. Next up UM. I sure hope Weber shows up this time, and before the 2nd half!

Great defensive 2nd half adjustments. Looked like the Weber defenses we've been used to.

Gotta give credit to Kennesaw State. That is a good football team, if they could develop a passing game they would be deadly. Their inability to pass is ultimately what doomed them when we took their run away in the 2nd half.

Lets do this again someday Kennesaw!

Now onto Montana, time for some revenge. The fans need to show up for this one or we are gonna get drowned out by the Griz faithful. Get the word out. PACK THE STADIUM NEXT WEEKEND.

you obviously didnt watch any of the montana game. the griz ran the ball in the A gap their last 4 drives and just punted over and over. The last score was a pick 6. the score before that was right at the start of the 4th Q. you just hate Hauck because he is a dominating coach in the bigsky and you hate montana for being historically good. Funny that your coach is a HUGE Hauck fan and is Hauck of your coach.

Big second half by the defense. Only complaint I have is why offense goes ultra conservative when a crushing blow can be dealt.

:agree:

Not really that conservative IMO. Problem was Constantine not making the throws. He makes the throw to Macpherson and it's a TD. Then the INT (although there was clear PI). And Cooley saved his ass a couple times with great catches.

The refs were not at their best in this one. There were several missed or questionable calls. They missed a ton of holding and illegal blocks. They were right on their TV timeouts though. You gotta give them that. :coffee:

You're right, I didn't see any of the UM game, but you're incorrect that I hate Montana. I do hate a Hauck-coached Montana team. Hill can be a fan of whomever he wants, just as I can. I don't respect the type of student-athlete Hauck has historically built his teams with, nor do I respect coaches who run it up which I've noted several times over many seasons.

“Type of student athlete” please tell me more? The facts are BH recruits and has historically recruiting Montana kids more than any other UM coach. He has the leading graduation rate for student athletes of any UM coach. His teams have historically been the top GPA football teams in UM history. He regularly kicks kids off the team for team rule violations. He pulls attendance reports for classes daily and makes athletes sprint the M when they miss any class. He has been criticized historically for taking his foot off the pedal too SOON. He has been criticized for playing “Bobby ball” which is generally getting a small lead and then running and trying to clock kill and not score additionally. The dude even played the back up kicker yesterday. Was playing any freshman with time left to play. I understand you don’t like him but you have incorrect facts. You also need to remember SLU came back from a HUGE deficit last week to win. So yea up until the 4th Q...you gotta keep playing.

Personally, not a huge fan of Hauck but I have to admit he’s a good football coach. His teams are tough and talented. We hate him because he usually gets the best of Weber. Over the years Montana and Weber have developed a pretty good rivalry (not just football) and it’s always fun to lock horns with the Griz.

On another note, Kennesaw was a tough out. Those kids played with a lot of heart and left everything on the field. They should be proud of their effort and their season. Their format of the triple option was precise and expertly executed. Now, I do take exception to the crap refs from the Southland Conference. That was perhaps the poorest crew I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching ref a game. A player punches a student and nothing happens (I’m sure the HC at KSU will definitely have some words for his players). Spots were off all game, waaayyy too much extra-curricular activity was occurring on the field. I’m shocked a fight never broke out. Terribly reffed game.

For the uninitiated, Here is a revealing read on Hauck and his model citizens in the rape capital of the west. I wouldn’t let my dog go to that university.

This place sounds like that school down South, BYU?

Except they do not throw beer bottles, they go to Taco Time and beat up your girlfriend.

You made the same claim in the Weber game, that Hauck was going to run it up, so at least you're consistently wrong. In the weber game, he had his 4th string-never-played-before-freshman in at the end. In the SLU game, had his backups in the game with 14:00 left in the 4th. He eventually got down to his 6th string RB running straight dives by the end. The GRIZ backups got two defensive scores late in the game.

Look, it's not Hauck's fault if his 4th sting is better than most team's starters. They can't begin taking knees with an entire quarter to play.
