With 24 hitting the portal and some solid players in that mix, I would think that we will be bringing in a good sized group of transfers. Some of those transfers will be enrolling this semester and will participate in spring drills.I’m with you. I totally understand others having concerns with experience, but I’m liking the pieces coming together on the staff, and I’m liking the local recruiting emphasis while still maintaining some ties to California and Texas. The transfer portal will be interesting.
Also, Weston Briggs a big RB/FB out of Corner Canyon.Tate Kjar just committed
The younger brother to Noa and Tate is a highly regarded tight end at Corner Canyon. At 6'5'', with a 38'' vertical, he is also an excellent basketball player. It would be great if he were to sign on to play for his dad as well.Tate Kjar is transferring from USU as a wide receiver. He redshirted in 2024. 3* prospect out of high school, Utah 6A player of the year.
Most of the assistants Kjar has brought in have D1 experience, some a bit more than others. It's not as if he has hired them right out of Jr High coaching. Most have had recruiting experience, and most have come from winning organizations. As a group, they are young and eager to prove themselves. With Skyler leaving it also leaves another opportunity for the assistant head coaching position. There are only one or two more positions to fill. I'm sure there will be a lot of learning going on the first year, but the energy and enthusiasm are there, and I like the vibe.It does leave Kjar in a weird position. Though, I feel he needs a little more DI experience around him. Waiting to hear who the remaining members of his staff are going to be.
