Now engaged in the 10th minute of head-shaking over this news. This may require many chemical concoctions to comprehend.

It almost screams "one more year of football." Thing is, it could just as easily scream "we really are having trouble hiring an AD."

How are we supposed to get a strong recruiting class, keep the kids we already have, and put a better product on the field next season when no one knows if the program will be around after that?
I am scared now...

Jim Serres U of Texas San Antonio
What are the Challenges at PSU? First Financial. Second How do you get football going. Football Hasn't been good. Taken a turn for the worse. Need to focus on How do we make it better.
Also need to build brand in community. Athletics can be the front porch of the university to the community.
At the end of day I would be focused on three things; fundraising, football, brand.
My Vision of brand? Don't know about UO -OSU. But PSU can be as good or better than Montana.
One of coaches asked about the fact there are a few petitions floating around to get rid of football. What will you do to keep football.
If you didn't have football at PSU I am not your AD. It's not a matter of do we get rid of football it's a matter of how do we make it work. You have to have football here. If not it hurts all other sports...
At the conclusion of the meeting I bumped into Dennis Ferguson who is the Assistant AD responsible for business development. He said for any who might be concerned he wished Jim had been more passionate in one of his answers to highlight that PSU football is here to stay and the administration is fully committed to it.
That's it. My take away is that I heard loud and clear that regardless of who is brought on as AD that PSU is fully committed. I am relieved and excited. Let's put away our doubts and figure out how to support the coming administration and coaches...
