Let's not accept any more TV games

Ha, well if we really want something to complain about with this broadcast, we can point out the scoreboard, or lack thereof for the telecast..

Some things I noticed:

1.) Why do we not get Kaba more time? He came in today, and actually made this game somewhat interesting for a split second, we could have used him earlier.. we struggled shooting the ball, and thats when you need to go to your bench to find a guy who can spark a team. Kaba did that, just too little too late.

2.) I hate to say it, we might be a team who "lives and dies by the 3" to some degree.. NO ONE (except for Kaba) could make a shot from outside the paint, we finished 5/16 from beyond the arc (1/12 before our late rally) and we just rely on it maybe a little too much, I understand we have good shooters but I think this team is capable of beating the better teams in the conference (Portland State, Weber State, Montana) IF they utilize an inside-out game. Which brings up my next point..

3.) We need Jabril Banks. At the beginning of the 2nd half in the game today, he took over the paint with a force that few college players possess. This guy can lead us to some things, I wish we hadn't stopped going to him throughout the 2nd half.

Sorry for the miniature rant.. These next two games will be an interesting barometer for the team, they are playing the two last place teams in the conference right now in Sac State and Northern Arizona, but the games are on the road. And we all know how tough it is to win games on the road in conference, especially at the end of a long road trip.

I do think overall getting a split while in Montana was good it's just too bad the game yesterday was so painfull to watch.

Kaba is kind of an enigma. I know when Mason left I mentioned something about Kaba having to fill his role being a similar type player but really until yesterday I hadn't seen much from him. Maybe a light bulb went off and he can now step up a bit but I think everyone was a surprised to see him light it up like that I didn't know if he had it in him. Reading Boyle's quotes I'm guessing he'll get more time he said something about other people pushing the ones that have typically been in the rotation.

The shooting though was painfull, very similar to the Portland State game and credit is due to Montana to some degree but we have guys who will remain nameless that couldn't even hit a lay up, standing 3 feet from the hoop and the shot goes up and over and hits nothing but air... that happened about four times in the second half alone.
