Live Turf Installation Cam

What's really cool is that they framed the red turf with black turf, so you get to see both colors at play. I don't think anyone else in the country uses two turf colors... even Boise is all blue. I'm not sure about the other school that has blue turf.

I'm really hoping the NCAA bans non-green turf at the end of this season, because then we know we're the only ones who'll ever have such a unique playing surface.

Yeah, I love the black. I was worried they were going to go with all red, or even worse, frame it in the natural green and have a goddamn christmas field. With the addition of the numbers and some of the hash marks today, it's lookin' amazing!

Anyone know what is going on with the score board? I heard that they are trying to purchase a used one from a school that is upgrading. Any truth to this and do we know if it will happen this year?

I'm not too clear on it either. I think Vic would know the most... I know from him that we're definitely trying to get it done for this season, just got to finish raising the money.

Wow, just looked at Woodward after not having checked for a few weeks. Looks great!

It's Roos, not Woodward anymore. ;) As much as I appreciate the generous contributions of Mr. Roos and all the other big donors, did anyone else feel that renaming a facility with so many years of history behind it a bit premature? The next time someone comes along with a million dollar contribution for facility upgrades, are they then going to rename it again? I felt like they could have just named it "Roos Field" at "Woodward Stadium", which is does all over the country. The new red turf does look awesome, though. :D

Did I miss something here? Noticed you had a smily face in there but isn't it still Woodward Stadium and Roos Field? So, they aren't renaming anything really :?:

No, it's being renamed Roos Field. No stadium name, Roos Field will replace "Woodward Field" on the front gate.

No, that makes too much sense. They're re-naming the entire facility, which I agree is a bit much. So much history behind the Woodward name. Kinda sad really.

Where'd the turf cam go??

Not sure. I noticed that it was down last night. As far as I know, the only thing they need to do now is finish covering the turf with the rubber pellet things, so maybe they figured that's about all there is to show. I am hoping that they will post some final pics of what it looks like, though - for us out of towner types.

Yeah, only thing is none of them show the final product. I was hoping they would post some pictures once it's all said and done, but maybe that is yet to come.

EWURanger,
I noticed the same thing yesterday about 1p.m. I will have to eat Crow, I was so positive the Team would be able to practice on the Turf today, and Scrimmage on Wednesday. The Sweeper that is supposed to get the Rubber Pellets into the turf broke down yesterday. So I would only eat half a Crow. lol;

They started out with 120 bags of the Rubber Pellets, they were down to 50 this morning according to Michael Davis, EWU Project Manager, each bag weighs 1 ton. The Sweeper is now back, and limping along. Hope there are enough juice to get the job done.

Yesterday Practice was something to look at. Razzle Dazzle, from Bo Mitchell, to Tyler Hart going to his right, lateral to Greg Heard, Greg threw a 55 yards TD to Zach Gehring. Even thou there was no scrimmage yesterday, it sounds like Scrimmage Time the way the pads were sounding. Can't wait for tomorrow Scrimmage on the Practice Field.

goeags.com, have some more information on the happenings on the turf. There will be a dedication on Sept. 16th, time I forgot. All the information is on "goeags.com". Well heading to the practice @ 3pm.

Our Team is looking great, and hitting like HELL. There were even a little squabble between an OL & DL. Those young men are getting reaady for the season. DL Anthony Larry, was chasing Bo around, and every other Quarterback, that practice. He is going to be a BEAST on the DL.

If you all doesn't hear from me, I am in the "Poor House" I will be feeding the Running Backs, Quarterbacks, DB. They will be eating Baby Backs Ribs, Macaroni and Cheese, Collard Greens, Catfish, (I see you, "Stop Licking your lips"lol. It is my pleasure feeding those young men, women in our Athletic Program. I have already checked with the Compliance Officer. Don't want to cause us anymore NCAA Violations. GO EAGS!!! Vic Wallace

Vic it's time to feed the O-LINE hahaha

flyingnail,

As soon as the team get some more time off, I will invite OL/DL/DB, Kickers/Punters. Of course not at the same time, this will take time. I did forgot to mention the Wide Receivers will be coming on Thursday also. Spoke with the personnel reference Red Turf & the Rubber Pellelts, he said if nothing breaks, they will be finished tomorrow. Will have to wait and see. Scrimmage tomorrow on Practice Field about 3:30pm. p.s. our walking wounded are all now back at practice, with the exception of Billy Lectenberg, CB. He is walking a lot better, and I feel he will be ready pretty soon. Go Eags!!!! Vic

Team was just in helmets today, worked for about one hour then worked with some younger children from Cheney, Elementary School. They were calling plays for the young kids, was fun to watch. Some of the kids were as big as they are:-). Nice to see our team players are helping out in Cheney.

that's awesome, and great to hear that our guys are giving back to the community. Crazy i've never heard of them doing stuff like that, but just goes to show it's more honest than the professional athletes that do that, but then they make a commercial "NBA Cares" bah!
