Live Turf Installation Cam

Yeah i know it seems slow, but trust me things are getting done. remember there is about 18" of specifically layered soils and drainage media that need to be carefully placed and leveled before the actual turf gets rolled out. Once they start on the turf it will go quickly. It's all the prep work that takes the majority of the time.

FrontFive4Life,
As usual I again was out looking at the progress of the work being done on the soon to be "Roos Field". It looks great so far. The Foreman said today that they will not be @ EWU on Monday, however, Tues & possibly Wed. Just a little touch up is left. They put in some Electricial Boxes in today on both sidelines, a few is left, then the job will be complete.

I missed one day which was Tuesday July 6th. My youngest son who is a Pastor in Moses Lake, we went and spend little time with him and family. Steve Pauletto, came up and mentioned that I Missed a day  . My daughter made some pictures of the before and after. Pauletto, said he was approximately 3 weeks ahead.

I am sure you have gone to "goeags.com" and see how they are getting the work done. According to one of the "BIG WIGS" the Turf should be here in about 2 weeks. This was Friday July 16, which means it should be here in another week. Hope so. Goodnight. Go Eags! Vic

Thanks for the scoop Vic. Putting the pieces together:
3 weeks ahead of schedule
Finishing touches next week
Turf arriving two weeks from the13th

It sounds like if all goes well, they could be rolling out the red carpet the 1st week of August. That would be a great way to kick off camp the following week.

It's gonna be a great season!

Go Eags!

Put some red carpet down already!! I keep looking at the same picture where it looks like the dirt work is done and the equipment is parked on the side. Let's go...!!!

They are supposedly a week ahead of schedule and the turf isn't set to arrive until next Monday. Somebody get on the horn and have that turf shipped sooner. Go Eagles!!!

Does'nt help to be ahead of schedule only to let it fall back on schedule ! WHO'S the project manager !! He should be all over this !!! GO EAGS !!!!

fccubed,
You are right the Red Turf is in. They rolled three rolls over on the west side of the field, and left. They will be out tomorrow to get things rolling. Pissed me off, I got my chair out, ate my sandwich, and they left. :( Well, at least the turf is there.

Reference Bo Mitchell, you are correct, he is a very nice individual to get to know. His brother is just as friendly. Everytime we go out to the practices, he comes over and talk with myself and daughter.

Check the web site, the Football Roster is out, dated as of July 30th, 10. We have almost 88 players on the roster, which includes Greg Panelli (possible Red Shirt). Can't wait for next week when the practices start. There goes my gas bill , but every penny spent is worth it. Be Cool. Go Eagles! Vic

I hope the boys get some practice time on that red rug as it certainly looks like it could be as disorienting a home field advantage as Boise State's blue turf! I love it!

It doesn't seem as red to me in person as it does on camera. I drove by the field when I was in town last weekend and it has kind of a nice weathered-red look. It's still bold, but it doesn't have that shock factor.

Yeah, it's a little more muted, and less orange than it appears in the webcam, but it's certainly a bright red in person. Partly cloudy game days are going to be awesome... the field looks really cool when a cloud moves part of it into shadow and the rest is sunlit. :)

What's really cool is that they framed the red turf with black turf, so you get to see both colors at play. I don't think anyone else in the country uses two turf colors... even Boise is all blue. I'm not sure about the other school that has blue turf.

I'm really hoping the NCAA bans non-green turf at the end of this season, because then we know we're the only ones who'll ever have such a unique playing surface.
